Hi Phil, I bought the exact same set up had it delivered last week and sprayed my upvc windows (which was my first ever attempt)last Saturday with selemix. Was quite impressed with compressor, nice bit of kit. Good video as usual keep them coming.👍

What did you think to the gun? I was a bit disappointed with the fan adjustment. It didn't seem to be as wide as I'd like to do the doors, whereas the gun on my QT5 seems to give a good wide pattern when you need it.

Phil Beckwith The Professional Painter & Decorator Yep Phil think the gun absolutely sucks mate, I've not used it been and bought my self a iwata Lph80 little touch up gun It's a 1.2 needle it's only got a 2inch fan pattern but lovely for windows and frames. Bought my self a cheap lvhp gun with a 1.3 needle for broader stuff like garage doors and upvc doors seems to work fine. Use both with pps systems.

Hi Phill thanks for taking the time to make these videos,how does it compare to the turbine set up for spraying trim ie doors frames etc is there more over spray ?thanks👍
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator3 жыл бұрын
Which in turn can move air/dust around the room. The bonus of the compressor is a thinner air line, the QT5 has a quite chunky air pipe to the gun. Both will give the results you want. You need to weigh up price and size of unit. Let me know your thoughts.. which way you'd be looking at going. Nether is wrong...
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator3 жыл бұрын
As with both. Control is the key and getting your paint consistency just right. The correct pressure, your spraying distance all contribute to the over spray. When I had it with too much psi you could see the bounce back of overspray. With the QT5 turbine, it is running all the time and also the unit blows out air

Hi Phil. Thank you so much for your content. Very informative. Can i ask why you use the turbine for your upvc work and not the compressor set up? I'm looking to invest in either a compressor or turbine. Wondered what you'd recommend for the best all rounder ie woodwork, upvc and cabinets. Thank you

Hi. Thanks for the kind words. I use my hvlp Qt 5 mainly cus it's a smaller unit to move around when in ppls houses. It's more down to cost and what you want to spend. I doubt you'd notice much difference in quality of finish. It's good to have something of everything 😉

Hi Phil thanks for the videos they are very helpful as I am currently waiting to start a upvc spraying course then just going for it . The market is definitely big , do you do static caravans aswell ? Kind regards Chris

Hi Chris. Ive not done one if those, but once you know the products that are suitable, prep well and tape up well it's just another job... Like anything else to spray. ;) Best of luck.

Does the air pressure drop when the compressor kicks in while spraying?, Im debating whether to get this one or the smaller 6l compressor.

I can't say I noticed.

Great info. I'm considering the exact same compressor, with an flg5 gun from sprayman. My only concern is portability . I do domestics mainly so is getting the compressor up and down stairs a mission or does its design make it easy enough? Cheers.

It's not light and lifting in and out the van is easier if two of you do it. The wheels help once on the ground. Speak with sprayman and go through the options that suit you Best. A QT5 hvlp is a lot easier to move about, but. Abit more money.

Hello Phil Which one do you prefer your air compressor or hvlp turbine?
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Жыл бұрын
hard to answer, as the compressor we only use when flake spraying, that's what we bought it for. It weihs more than teh turbine and not so easy to move about a house. So.... the question is, where and what are you using it for?
@asdad2385 Жыл бұрын
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator so the compressors not really good for your hallway landing and staircase
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Жыл бұрын
@@asdad2385 put it in the hallway and have a long hose up the stairs ;) Or, take it up with you, it;s on wheels. YOu can get smaller 9ltr versions on mine too. that may be handier for you. I needed the 24ltr for the volume of air pressure needed for spraying flake.

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator is the air compressor more effective and better quality finished? I'm planning on getting into pvc spraying aswell
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Жыл бұрын
@@asdad2385 compared to Hvlp turbine? I don't think they'd be much in it, as it the gun that atomisation that does the finish. Hvlp or airless.... Hvlp will have a better finer finish and more control inntye gun... Paint flow.. air flow.

want to spend under £1,000 it’s totally new but I’m going to try on my upvc caravan doors and windows see how it goes then advertise from there what set up do you recommend ?? Do you have any old set ups ?
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator2 жыл бұрын
just found your message. You'd get that set up under £1k a smaller set up 9ltr tank a bit less, what did you end up doing?

Do you need a transformer for this or does it plug straight into the wall?
