I'm a huge fan of implementing gentle nutrition through addition. Whenever I go to a party or picnic, I always sign up to bring a veggie tray or salad. Often, they people forget to include veggies at these things. Nothing wrong with a veggie-free meal, but I end up more nibbly because it feels like something is missing. I still eat whatever I want, but adding some carrots to my plate of pita chips and hummus makes me feel more satisfied. One thing I am working on is not letting the anti diet movement sway me. I often see posts about how it's ok to not make the "diet" swaps. You can have mayo and white rice and full fat ranch. It almost makes me worried that I'm still in diet culture if I pick the lower calorie swaps. But the truth is, I prefer broccoli salad made with Greek yogurt, I don't like white rice, and I think the lighter yogurt ranch balances out the heaviness of buffalo wings really well.

Thanks Colleen. I signed up as I always enjoy your classes. I definitely struggle with guilt. That is the result of diet culture that has been ingrained in me my entire adult life. I’m slowly letting go of food rules and it truly is like a big weight being lifted. Thank you! 🥰

Many many thanks for sharing this!! Immensely valuable for me as it is a topic that is rarely paid attention to, let alone explained in detail with practical tips, besides it being so important. So supportive for my healing. Appreciating YOU!

I joined the socieaty around September of last year for around my 3rd round of attempt to start eating intuitively. It changed the game for me. I'm 31 weeks pregnant now and dk how I would have done it if I still lived by all my food rules. These videos are so great to fall back on when I start to hear the diet mentality speak up in the back of my mind. Thank you for what you do ❤️❤️❤️

Great information, but does anyone else hear "dense nutrition" when she says gentle nutrition? Or like "gense"? Every video she mentions gentle nutrition, I swear she's saying "dense (or gense) nutrition" about 80% of the time...this could be psychological, but I really don't think it is. I've never heard of gentle or dense nutrition until I've seen her videos.
