My version of the great John Hartford classic. Finger picked in C with alternating bass and the descending motif from C to B to A to B through C, Cmaj7, Cm6, Cmaj7.

This is one of the greatest songs ever and I doubt if I'll ever hear a bad version, and believe me I've heard many of them. Chris's version is among the best.

There is one thing all great songs have in common. They can be played in many different ways and it still sounds great. I have been a huge John Hartford fan since the early 70's. Most people today give credit to Glen Campbell for this song. Glen sure did make popular, but he always gave credit for the song to John. R.I.P. to two of the greats.
