She’s been big for decades, amazing work since she left coronation street years ago; problem with people nowadays is if you are not globally known or your not on celeb news every five minutes, your under rated; couldn’t be far from the truth, Suranne just gets on with things and is now exploring many strong iconic characters; Dr Foster was amazing. A well seasoned actress like Suranne is not looking for recognition at her level, just privileged to have access to the roles she brings to life, anything else is a bonus...

Yes it's too soon as I've been waiting 3 years for *Happy Valley* series 3, because *Sally Wainwright* got sidetracked with this and another 2 shows. Why she decided to start 3 new projects before she'd finished the others only she knows. Now she's finally finished the *Canadian* show, and the two *West Yorkshire* shows, she can get back to finishing another two *West Yorkshire* shows in *Last Tango in Halifax* series 5, and *Happy Valley* series 3. Also it's the *BBC* who you'll have to ask for series 2, as *HBO* had little imput as usual. *HBO* just throw money at British networks, then try to claim the credit for all the work those British networks have done.

Gentleman Jack is a good storyline especially with Madam Anne Lister's own words on what had been happening at that era. I really do hope that HBO would consider to make a movie out of it. Cause the way the cast play it out is really something. It really captivated my interest for I am not a big fan on period drama. Love Suranne Jones's performance as she has really embodied the character, in my opinion. Her mannerism, the way she walks! Sopie Rundle is really good with that fragility, not over-playing it. The costumes are brilliant too and the settings. Wow, the list can goes on and on. Overall I just want to say good job on this project. I simply love it!

This is the 5th British show at least, in 2019 alone where *HBO* have tried to claim the sole credit, even though the British networks were the ones who originally commissioned, funded, produced, first broadcast and own the shows. *HBO* like most American TV companies, usually come in as late co-producers, or as distributors only for countries outside the UK, then try to claim all the credit. 1 - *Gentleman Jack* is a *BBC* show. 2 - *His Dark Materials* is a *BBC* show. 3 - *Chernobyl* is a *Sky UK* show. 4 - *Leaving Neverland: Michael Jackson and Me* is a *Channel 4* show. 5 - *Brexit: The Uncivil War* is a *Channel 4* show. I have no problem with this. If hbo put up a percentage of the money then they can advertise it as there's. As a licence fee payer, yes that's still a thing, this helps the BBC produce more good quality shows with out paying every penny. This an important story to be told. Hbo can have credit, they paid for it.
@danielgardecki10465 жыл бұрын
@@philltolkien5082 You're missing my point. My problem isn't with them and every other American broadcaster taking credit, and their news media companies giving them credit. My problem is with them taking the *sole* credit, even when they had nothing to do with the commissioning/funding/production of a show. *Gentleman Jack* is not a *HBO* show. *Gentleman Jack* is a *BBC* and *HBO* show. Most British networks, and most British news media companies (the ones who have done their research anyway) will credit *both* producers of a show when it's a co-production, but American networks, and streaming services only credit *themselves,* and their news media companies go along with it. *Happy Valley* for example has nothing whatsoever to do with *Netflix,* yet *Netflix* who simply distribute the show outside the UK claim it's a *Netflix Original.* Therefore people around the world are thanking *Netflix* for a show they didn't commission, fund, produce or own. *Gentleman Jack* is a bit different, as they paid for the privilege of being credited as co-producers, and commissioned the show with the *BBC.* However they didn't have anything to do with the production, which is no doubt why they've removed the trailer from their *KZbin* channel, and have posted just 5 posts in total about the show on *Facebook* and *Twitter.*

Not sure where you got the *Pirates of the Caribbean* link from, but here's some fun facts, which link all 3 to *Bradford, West Yorkshire, England.* 1 - *Jonathan Linsley* who played *Ogilvey* the head gunner of the *Flying Dutchman* in *Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest* and *Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End* is from *Bradford.* 2 - *Downton Abbey* (2019) filmed in *Little Germany, Bradford,* and most likley used other locations across the city. 3 - *Gentleman Jack* (2019) also filmed on the same streets in *Little Germany, Bradford,* and again I suspect there will be other *Bradford* locations used in the production that I don't know about yet. I've not watched *Gentleman Jack* yet but the streets of *Little Germany* are blatantly obvious in the trailers and behind the scenes videos as usual, as they always use the same ones, so if they have used any of the other usual locations in *Bradford* I should be able to spot them.

I've got no idea why you keep saying deep. You might need a new French to English dictionary. The word you might be looking for to describe *Ardeche* is *rural,* however *Halifax* isn't as *rural* as you think it is. *West Yorkshire* is easily the most *urban* county in the whole of *Yorkshire.* *West Yorkshire* contains: 1 - *Leeds* - The 3rd biggest city in the UK has a population of 784,846. 2 - *Bradford* - The 7th biggest city in the UK has a population of 534,800. 3 - *Wakefield* - The 13th biggest city in the UK has a population of 340,790. 4 - *Kirklees* which contains the large town of *Huddersfield* has a population of 437,145. 5 - *Calderdale* which contains the large town of *Halifax* has a population of 209,454. All those towns and cities are surrounded by countryside like all the towns and cities in *Yorkshire* aka *God's Country,* however like I said *West Yorkshire* is more *urban* than *North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire* and the *East Riding of Yorkshire* as we have 3 of the biggest cities packed into the second smallest county in *Yorkshire.* *Shibden Hall* which is in the middle of *Shibden Park* in *Halifax* is just 1.5 miles from *Halifax town centre,* 7.5 miles from *Huddersfield town centre,* 14.5 miles from *Leeds city centre,* 15 miles from *Wakefield city centre,* 7.5 miles from *Bradford city centre,* and 5.5 miles from me in the middle of *Bradford.* As for the next episodes, I'm guessing the words you're looking for there are: *Can't wait for the next episodes!*

@GA Peach Speaking as a straight person, straight people are 'privileged' because they don't face the discrimination, negative social pressure, hatred and vitriol which LGBT people do. I'm not responding to hatred with hatred, I'm simply saying the facts. Even I was do that, how would pointing out that there are very few shows with LGBT main characters be some 'hateful'?
@MrSumphora5 жыл бұрын
@GA Peach You don't seem to realise that people like the person I responded to are not going to be swayed by reasonable facts and arguments. They believe irrational things, and thus cannot be swayed by rational argument. There simply is no 'common ground' between rational people and those who hold bigoted beliefs like this. They don't care about the truth - namely, that LGBT people having representation is not an attack on straight people. Their arguments are simply a transparent cover for the fact that they hate LGBT people, and would prefer the world to pretend as if they didn't exist. When you take them seriously, and engage with them as equals, all you do is legitimise them to observers. It's much the same reason that there's often zero tolerance for holocaust denial in public forums - engaging with them is futile, as they don't care about the truth, and will use the veneer of an apparent 'debate' to legitimise their viewpoints and proselytise. I'm not going to indulge them, and be polite about it, because that accomplishes nothing and only rewards their malice and stupidity. As for your suggestion of seeking "common ground", I find that laughable. Compromising with people like this means accepting their bigotry. I suggest you have a look at MLK's letter from Birmingham Jail.
@MrSumphora5 жыл бұрын
@GA Peach You make the mistake of assuming that people like this are 'bees', rather than hornets. They are not neutral or otherwise unaffiliated people who can be convinced by reason and compassion, as they fundamentally lacking in both. It's also rather telling that in your call for tolerance and moderation you've only attacked me, the guy arguing in support of LGBT people, rather than the bigots on the other side. Your moral cowardice and tacit support of bigotry is astounding.
