One thing that I find inconsistent about Raphael's opinions is - on the one hand - he looks down on MTM companies and online retailers such as Indochino and Suit Supply because they could not fit his "unusual body" - while simultaneously advocating for higher quality vintage or pre-owned suit. Just because the suit is higher quality, does not mean that the fit itself is going to be better. Yes, obviously there are comfort advantages to buying quality garments, especially suits. But the gripe about MTM that Raphael makes is that the suits do not fit him properly. A higher quality, hand stitched suit bought pre-owned will still have the issues with fit - probably more than MTM because the suit was designed and tailored for someone else.

Hugo Boss suits are somewhat on and off. My first two suits are from Hugo (got it from outlet so not paying full price for them). One of it is a Navy blue suit and the cloth quality is so bad on that the suit got really torn to shreds within the first year. The second one is a grey suit that looks more classic and it have Super 120 fabric. I wear that one just as much as the Navy blue and that suit I have been wearing 3 years now and its still in excellent condition.

Yes EG are worth twice the price as C&J. EG are the best shoes that I've ever warn. This is just my personal opinion.

The main advantage of CT at the price point is the range of sizing options. Their shirt fabrics are generally nice quality for the price - much better than you will find in a department store for the same price. They also sell a staggering number of different shirts. Want a plain blue/white/lilac shirt? They’ll have three or four fabric options for each.

For sometimes lazy youtubers like myself, he mentions the names of the brands, just click more info and he even has a timestamp. I used to think fashion was superficial and perhaps even effeminate but in my mid twenties I'm starting to learn to appreciate aesthetic and realize dressing well isn't merely for women or gay men. It's kind of unfortunate how American culture has changed in this regard, men used to dress well and take pride in their personal image, I think that's starting to change though!

Magnini is a good Spanish shoe brand, not too expensive but mostly available in good stores where they have high-end shoe brands too. Their models and finishing are really interesting. Don't expect the same aging and longevity as a more expensive shoe, but by all means go for it. They mostly have the latest models and they have interesting colours too. Avoid Ferragamo shoes and other leatherware from this brand. They won't last.

I mean, they can cost 800 dollars if you buy them on eBay because they are special edition or something. You don't even wear them if you spend so much, it's just an hobby at that point. If you buy them new from Supreme stores you pay less then 50 dollars for a t shirt which is still a lot but not so much! Resell value is a totally different thing.

What kind of soles do you recommend for boots? I see this great Allen Edmonds boots with leather soles, but how on earth will they hold up in a place with snow and wet streets?!?
@Cardmonger7 жыл бұрын
Politicians Exposed you should try and get some rubber outsoles put on to help with the grip and longevity of the boots. Also I wouldn't recommend wearing boots/shoes back to back, every other day is more ideal. If you don't want to go through the process of finding someone to install the outsoles check out other brands. Trickers make good boots with different grip patterns too. Hope this helps
@expatriatechronicles69157 жыл бұрын
I think Allen Edmonds produce boots with either the rubber outsole or the leather one. Seems like rubber would be the way to go.
