We dont need to learn. If the Holy Spirit lives in us and we are born again then it is natural for us to be like this to all men. Our treasure is within us and not in the world.

Good study John. If the Holy Spirit lives within us we will be gentle, kind and peaceful. We will have the joy in the Lord, not in our circumstances.

Anyone know the software program Pastor Piper uses for these lessons?

If our needs are to burden God who is never overburdened, what about Galatians 6:2 which says that we are to carry each others' burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ, implying that's how we love others?

Do you people on Here actually ever Do anything Jesus Asked you to? Or do you just sit around reading words and praising each other?

Huey Leadbetter Hello! Huey! You are Right! I should be more gentle. But I get so much flack from people when I tell them they should follow Jesus Words in Matthew 5 6 7. People tell me I am satan and condemn me when I remind them of Jesus Words. It is hard to believe how nasty Christians get when you quote Jesus..anything from His Gospel! It is really hard to understand for people who are supposed to Believe in Jesus..that they could reject Him so harshly.

Huey Leadbetter You are Right! Thank You..Huey. Jesus romped the Pharisees for the same thing. They studied the scriptures but they didn’t obey Gods commandments. These people want to read words over and over..but when you mention Jesus had commandments..they have a cow!

The minute...no...the second that one thinks that they are “gentle” and reasonable, that’s when they are the most deceived. It’s impossible to comply with with any of those attributes. Be anxious for nothing? That’s impossible.

Huey Leadbetter Then make your claim to even one beatitude...one item listed in the love chapter...one rule or regulation. The instant you make your claim you will be convicted by the spirit.
@mr.c24854 жыл бұрын
Huey Leadbetter None of those can be known. As a matter of fact...the second that you think that you qualify for any of those is when you are the most deceived.

Huey Leadbetter If you were truly a kind peacemaker who loves his neighbor as self, you wouldn’t simply make the claim..you would share insights into HOW you achieved such powerful attributes. Just because it’s in the Bible and you believe it doesn’t make it so for you. And, all attempts to comply with or become like these attributes is a fools game. No amount of human restraint will work...you’ll end up having to lie to yourself and God.

Huey Leadbetter I am very familiar with the rehearsed words. Repent, get wet, and then pray, read your Bible, and go to church where you will learn to be nice. None of those things are of any value if done out of a sense of obligation or fear of hell.

Jesus didn't Pray gently for the Pharisees! There is a time you Will Account for your false doctrines.

How would anyone ever know that they think others better than themselves? It’s impossible.
@mr.c24854 жыл бұрын
Huey Leadbetter You can’t know what’s best for someone else, let alone what’s best for yourself. There must be an established base of understanding before we can even talk about what’s best for anyone.
@mr.c24854 жыл бұрын
Huey Leadbetter Those are simple acts of kindness. Even an atheist would do those things....with the exception of the prayer. It doesn’t require belief in a god to be considerate of others. My atheist friends are some of the most selfless people I know. They will actually give a panhandler money whereas my Christian friends are so suspect that they won’t give them anything.
