Maria, I have been watching you for over 7 years now, I remember watching videos made on your iPhone while you were wearing scrubs (for work rather than a "costume"). I remember watching your 100k KZbin button unboxing video. From the moment I first saw one of your videos I realized that you had something special, the fact that you genuinely care about ASMR and helping people. I am so genuinely happy for you to have grown as much as you have in terms of metrics (subscribers, views, etc.) as well as range of material and master of your craft. The soothing sound of your voice is what drew me in back when I first started watching and it's part of what keeps me watching to this day. It's inspiring how much attention and detail you put into your craft. The reason I decided to write this was to complement your "crinkle sounds" on your uniform in this video and how realistic they are compared to a Doctor's or Dentist's visit. The little things like that, along with your writing, overall content quality, and of course, your soothing voice; will keep me watching long after you decide to stop making videos. When Maria said to make eye contact and added “I know it can be tricky, but you’ve got it” it meant SO MUCH to me. I’m autistic and eye contact really is difficult. It feels uncomfortable and will make me feel very anxious and unsafe for some reason but I know it’s important so I try practicing with asmr videos so it’s less weird with people in real life. Having the bit of reassurance she gave in this one was so unexpected but so nice 💖

While I’m not a KZbinr, I am in the content business and my best advice would be to not feel like you have to reinvent the wheel and don’t worry about what other people might think about your work. Just do whatever feels fresh and inspiring to you and everything else will take care of itself. I know you’ve been doing this a long time and it probably feels hard to not repeat yourself but I say just trust your instincts and do what feels right for you and I promise all of your fans will love it.
