I have to admit as a cabover fan, between watching your videos and FSC Trucking's videos, it really keeps me wanting to get an International 9670 or a Kenworth K100 to put to work. I am a company driver running a 2017 Kenworth T680 as of right now. Beautiful truck Tim it sounds amazing.

A knew a driver who pulled tanker for weigant 30+ years ago with a double bunk Transtar ll, and another who pulled reefer, drybox, bullpen, and heavy/ farm equipment with a double bunk 352. A local farmer had a sweet double bunk freightliner. He pulled various trailers from his place to various fields and he pulled his grain wagon to the mill/ elevator at harvest time. The freight shaker was always kept inside his equipment quanset barn. We moved and I lost track of it. Later found out it had sold at an auction when he retired from farming.

Back in the day when those super tens came out, I struggled with them until I fingerguard out to leave the jack on while shifting it would drop the gear in really fast so you wouldn't have to wait on it so long, she sounds good make that money pay them bills and be happy God Bless...

If you left It as it came from the factory it could blow up just as easily. You're just getting it to perform and get more torque for climbing those hills more so than horse power. @@kurtfoulke5130 you're clueless, just sit in your cut back Volvo and automatic transmission and watch and learn. Moving the torque curve and increasing the torque in the engine allows you to actually run at lower rpm's...burning less fuel with more pulling power when driven properly.

I share your passion for the cabover. The first truck I rode in and the first one I drove was a 1978 peterbilt cabover would still be driving if it wasn't rolled over by my uncle. I still keep it close by in hopes of fixing it one day.

Run a long air hose from shop so won’t need engine running . Soapy water in spray tank makes it easy to find all leaks

I pulled tank wagons with a cornbinder that had a Detroit with a super 10. I always ran with my Jake on the lowest setting to help shifts.

The best way I found to shift the Super 10 in my old Wally Truck is to pull it out,flip the button,and put it back in. Actually shift every gear. Not ideal,but much better than just flipping the button.

I think in Steve Feszchak's video (FSC Trucking) when he drove in and got to drive with Tim in "Living the Dream" they did shift as you described.

Boy I’d heard that from other drivers. I drove one for 5 years best way I found to make it work was start in second lever shift to fourth then again to sixth single the rest never hit 1600 on the tach and it’ll float like butter into every gear.

This technique works well on the 18 or 13 too when splitting, just gives a nice positive shift.. gotta admit, I don't do it all the time, but when it's more a crucial shift I will

That's funny, I used to shift a 96 Century Class the same way. Not a fan of the Super 10.

we used to leave Jake on just shift with the button seemed to slow it just enough to slide in next gear also have done it other way not a fan of those transmissions

Tim, is that tractor a road commander and what year is it ?my brother had a road commander II in the early 70s , it had two 220 gallon fuel tanks and could run frum huntsville ,alabama to albequerque new mexico non stop and still have about 30 gallons remaining .according to my brother that truck got 3 miles to the gallon .

It’s a cool ride, weld you some ramps to your fithwheel don’t need but a cut of t1 gradually going up so fenders don’t hit make it easy for you it’s got to be scary to back up thinking your going to hit it . Speaking of air leaks I had one behind dash it was a quick connect fix till I got back to fix it correctly but took me forever to find it looked everywhere it all way the last place ha ha. Mom and I used to meet when I was under a load to eat a good meal Dinner Bell has been part of my life for as long as I’ve been alive. I’ll take that super 10 off your hands

Hi Tim if I wanted to get just a bit more hp and snap out of my 12.7 series 60 with out spending too much how would I go about it, perhaps a better turbo from stock one and a tune do? Hey Tim, I'd be interested in seeing a list of what you did to the motor there to get the horsepower that you're aiming for and what it cost. I have a series 60 1998 model in a Prevost bus conversion and I'd like to beef it up if it's feasible.
