To be fair they should be required to have a highway portal escort before doing stupid stunts like they are doing - I get what they are doing might be necessary (to get the job done) but it does not mean it's not stupid and they are putting other people at risk... 7:02 9:23 16:06 17:22 19:30 etc (just a few)...
@TheItinerantCraftsman6 ай бұрын
@@gatorage850 The state has mandated that these oversized vehicles hire escorts and you are seeing escorts at work. Do you know what flashing yellow lights mean on a vehicle? They are alerting all other motorists to proceed with caution. They are there to let you, the other drivers know that there is a road hazard in that location. You’re supposed to slow down and take note that something is unusual on the road: be it an obstruction, a vehicle parked in a travel lane, a vehicle moving in the opposite direction, a slow vehicle. One is not supposed to continue driving like they are on a NASCAR track like they do the rest of the time. Courtesy is all that’s required on the road

As a former OTR/Dedicated Route driver for the "Orange Company", I wish it was mandated that every POV driver had to ride shotgun with a semi-driver for 1 -2 days or a virtual trip through a designated DMV. They would better understand our limitations. When I drove, I took my family members (even my, not-yet-licensed daughter) and friends on my runs. That really opened their eyes. They each have a better respect for big rigs and what the drivers have to endure on each run. To this day, I follow the 10-second rule when changing lanes. Oh, and yes, If I can see both of your headlights in my rearview mirror, I will then signal my intent to cross over in front of you. RESPECT!
