I don’t know if you’ve had any troubles with the surface conditioning belts clogging up or anything, but I wanted to share that you can spray them with some WD-40 and use a brass wire brush to smooth it out and that’ll make them last a little longer while making it condition the steel like it did when brand new.

Thanks for the vid. I've always been partial to the fine belt. I found the coarse belt put some fairly deep scratches in the metal as I later decided to do a full polish. I had to go back to abrasive belts to get the scratches out. Sam is right, WD40 on the SC belts works beautifully.

Yes I’ve noticed that too, the course is VERY aggressive!

I love the medium belts for finishing, exactly what you're talking about here they work fantastic. I wish Red Label made them for my 1x42 Kalamazoo because I love their products and been using them since I started back in December, it's the only belt they don't make in that size but I've reached out to them and they said they're going to try and add them to the product line in the future. Another great vid!

What’s the deal with cork? Charge with compound? You could probably spend $200 and be able to start a with a flat heat treated knife, and finish with a mirror polish. Crazy. Too bad I do t have a vfd. I’m going to experiment with using a foot pedal and fluttering 😂 Questions about trizact: do you prefer the gator belts or the non “fluted” kind ones? Have you tried combat abrasives competitor? Starts at 400 grit and up.

I just came across your channel. Question when you use different types of wood to make a laminate handle what do you use to glue the slabs together? Thanks Randy Wallis

Can you help me out? I bought the yellow polishing belt from Red label abrasives. It came with the white compound. It doesn’t seem to be loading up on the belt and it’s not really putting a shine on my metal parts. What could be the problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’m right there with you! I have the same belt, loaded it up with green compound and tried using it after a medium scotch bright belt. It added a little shine to it but I haven’t used it much other then that. I need to mess with it a little more I think.

@@gentrycustomknives8008 so what do you recommend using to put a good shine or mirror finish on? That’s what I thought this belt was going to do. What would you use to clean up an old pocket knife to restore it?

Bought 3 medium this week funnily enough. Been using small versions for years that go on a foam drum that goes in a drill, use them for putting mitres on stainless box section corners after welding, grinding. wethersfieldweldinguk Instagram thanks for the follow 👍 Only made 2 knives out of Farrier's rasps now everyone wants one😳
