I think it's supposed to be zero, the part will wear to a clearance eventually, then uneven clearance needs to be measured to ensure the engine doesn't explode. Cheaper brands with clearances soon loosen as the exhaust clearance increases.

This is false. Even high end racing V8's to I6 diesels all have a specified measurement between the rocker and the valve. If it's zero the rocker could be engaging the valve, causing all kinds of problems. Also, how would you measure zero? How could you tell the difference between just touching and the valve being slightly open? A zero clearance would increase the chance of your engine having problems, not decrease it. All pushrod engines have a spec, usually they are different for the intake and exhaust valves. Edit: spelling

I said pushrod, but all ICE engines I am aware of OHV (pushrod), overhead cam w/ rockers (like this engine), or overhead cam with valve buckets all have a clearance between the valve and the rocker or the cam and the valve bucket. If you have zero (almost impossible to measure, especially for the average person) you might be inadvertently floating your valves. So no, always set your valve lash accordingly, from high end motors to cheap harbor freight motors.

Not very informative . What kinda of tools or what size wrench is needed for the valve it’s selfe ? How do u get to top dead center .. lots of things u need to explain all I got out of it was u got a new
