fabulous teaching with simple explanation. I am a bit average student so there's a thing I didn't understand. Why diaopside can't react with the melt as soon as crystallisation starts? Why there can't be peritectic point in this system? Thank you.
@Geo_Mind3 жыл бұрын
1. because as soon as crystallization starts, there is insignificant amount of diopside which is forming. 2. that depends on the type of components.

Great video again sir..at 23:04..the 6th line of paragraph 6..says that the system is 43% diopside crystals (An0) and 57% liquid of composition An 25. Shouldnt that be An 20 instead of An 25? if not can you explain how An 25 came in between
@Geo_Mind4 жыл бұрын
Yes Should be An20, just a typing mistake.

(d) At the eutectic, melting continues until one of the solid phases is fully molten. For the 50% anorthite 50% diopside mixture, which phase is consumed at the eutectic?

I m not sure but acc to lever rule For diopside crystals 20÷42 should be there instead 22÷42.🤔
@Geo_Mind4 жыл бұрын
the eutectic composition is at An42 , so tie line EF is 42 units, for An20 bulk the crystal % at E will be 42-20= 22/42
@Geo_Mind4 жыл бұрын
Count the units , the tie line is 22 for crystal of Di, for concept of lever rule watch previous video.
@supriyaagrahari25904 жыл бұрын
Sir i got 42-20 But somewhere i studied opposit side to the crystal is considered. Ex - for crystal diopside melt portion should be count and for melt crystal portion should be count.plz explain sir🙂

Even i went through its previous video, umentioned solidus side will represent liquid
@Geo_Mind4 жыл бұрын
@@supriyaagrahari2590 the portion of tie line which touches the liquidus curve side will represent the Crystal % I have provided a diagram for reference in this video.
@supriyaagrahari25904 жыл бұрын
Sir in ur previous vid u mentioned solidus side represent liquid so for diopside crystals calculation, opposite portion should be take into consideration .Plz explain sir🙄
@Geo_Mind4 жыл бұрын
I was talking about the tie line, if the portion of tie line touches the solidus curve then that portion of tie line will represent the liquid % (by counting the units) I can't be more clear than this.

Sir...i have a doubt ..how we decide the bulk composition. I mean when An42 Di 58 then crystallization begins left side . So how come An 43 Di 57 change the crystallization pattern..still Di composition is higher? Can you explain this please 🙏🙏
@Geo_Mind3 жыл бұрын
Its the composition for those two particular minerals.

Sir i have a doubt that on the left side of crystallization after reaching eutectic point, diopside will crystallze about 52 percent and the remaining 48 % is liquidous.. is the 48 % liquid contain both anorthite and dipside or are we talking about diopside only.?

Sir, Is it correct that the discontinuous series show the fractional crystallization while the continuous show equilibrium??.....and sir one more question that, Does the plutonic and volcanic equivalent formed by equilibrium crystallization (with same bulk composition)??
@Geo_Mind3 жыл бұрын
No, In real world scenarios Fractional melting is more dominant.
