We also adopted an abused older dog. He wouldn't leave the back hall for days, would just shake so hard. His teeth were also worn down. He was afraid of the TV and going to other rooms. He was stuck in a pen for 8 yeats until we adopted him. Then he only got love.🐾❤️🐾❤️

After getting my Baby🐇, I will adopt 🐇s (althoug I hope my Baby lives a full 8-12 years.) Buns are the 3Rd most shelter animals. Many owners buy them because they are cute (they are), but dump them once they realize how high maintenance they are BUT I believe an animal choose you as much as you choose them so I am not ruling out any needy soul..although as much as I ❤ doogies, I adore 🐇s.

God bless you! Many people don't realize they can also do a long-term/permanent foster for senior dogs and cats with shelters, and the shelter will provide medicine and vet care through the end of their lives.

I adopted an 8 yr old female boxer rescued from an illegal breeder. It took about a month for Roxie to finally decide we were going to help her. She went from sleeping in a cage when we got her to taking up most of the bed once she was comfortable. We had her only 4 yrs, but I’m thankful she was a part of our lives. I know when she died, she died a happy, loved fur baby. Miss you Roxie

I had my first rescue dog when I was about 18. Now I'm 60 and have my sixth rescue. The oldest one I adopted was an 8 year old female english cocker spaniel used for breeding. The others were between one and three years old and strays. I wouldn't take another senior dog, if it wasn't for important reasons, as it is always so hard when they leave you behind at the end of their lives.
