Tell me those who did this were held accountable. We truly need a national registry for animal abuse and neglect. There is no excuse for what happened here. None. I'm SO, so glad they were saved. I am so very sorry and sad that they had to endure what they did until they were saved. Bless the rescuers. Roo is absolutely precious and adorable! Edit: spelled Roo wrong. Great idea! That way, if someone goes to a shelter or pet store, they have to check if they're on the animal abuse registry 1st and if they are on it, then no animal for them. Although, they could just find a crappy breeder or some rando online, possibly find a stray, too, but maybe vets could check owners against the registry during an appointment, too. Ofc many animal abusers might just avoid the vet anyway so idk. If there's a way it could be implemented to cover those loopholes, then it's a really good idea! 😊

It definitely takes a certain personality type! I've fostered almost 20 cats, and I've only foster failed once under veeeeeeery special circumstances. The world needs all types, though - we couldn't keep fostering without folks like you to adopt the critters we nurse back to health!!!

I adopted a 1 year old dog about 4 years ago. She was so skinny and it was clear that she was mistreated before. Now she is one happy dog that look like she is always smiling but she still get nightmares from time to time. Whoever had her before didn't deserve her.

I adopted a large dog that was 30 pounds underweight. He was picked up as a stray. He needed so much time regarding feeding, that our local shelter was sending him to a lab rescue , we think he was mixed w mastiff. Vet suggested he was supposed to be a hunting dog, ran at the sound of a gun and was just left. He was such a good dog. And just massive. Unfortunately, he was only 7 when he died.
