They are a different breed, but they belong to same family of dogs - Sighthounds: Greyhound, Italian and Spanish Greyhound, Afghan, Irish Wolfhound, Saluki, Azawakh, Sloughi, Scottish Deerhound, Basenji, Ibizan Hound, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Pharaoh Hound, Lurcher and Magyar Agar. Abby is a Borzoi...Cleo a Silken Windhound. Silkens are a cross between a Borzoi and a Whippet. Silkens have been around since 1985. The Silken Windhound Society was formed in 1999. They are UKC recognized. And, of course, a sighthound is a Courser...fast and agile runners - they can exceed speeds over 40 m.p.h.! My retirement present was my dog, Zoi, a black and white Silken Windhound with a beautiful grey muzzle. She is a cross between Abby and Cleo. She is my shadow 24/7. She is a World Champion Couch Potato yet, like Cleo she loves to run.

@KenS1267 Жыл бұрын
Of the big groups of dogs I think sighthounds are probably the rarest which is sad. The smaller breeds, not the borzoi and other wolfhounds, would make good housepets. They need one or two walks a day if that walk gets them to a dog park or somewhere where they can run for a bit. Even the bigger greyhounds make excellent pets as all the racetrack rescues have shown, they definitely do not deserve lives as living blood banks for the rest of the dog world.

@@symptomoftheuniverse3862 I’m not saying it’s because a certain breed wouldn’t be my choice.
