I saw Queensryche on the Empire tour. Geoff said that the Operation Mindcrime tour was spent as a supporting act, so when I saw them as headliners on the Empire tour, they did 2 sets- the second being the whole Mindcrime album. The screens, the story, everything in its entirety. Phenomenal.

I totally agree with Geoff. Queensryche had thirty great years of music. Some bands aren't together for five years. All those great records they put out. Empire alone seals their place as one of the best metal bands of all time, in not one of the best rock bands ever. I doubt the Rock N' Roll Hall of Shame will ever induct them, given their track record of if ignoring metal bands.

@@cyclonus01 HITNF wasn't good, but I say Tribe was the worst. At least HITNF did have a couple very good songs. Also, Queensryche would not want Tate back because when Chris left, he took over as dictator, making personnel decisions without consulting the band, album decisions(Mindcrime II, which was also hot garbage). When members of the band decline to take part in the recording of an album due to the material, that is saying something.

1982 me and two other guys rented a studio hardly bigger than a walk-in closet to practice on East Marginal Way in Seattle. Got there early one day and while waiting for my friends heard music coming from an open door down the hall so I had to check it out and yes it was QR although at the time I had no idea who they were. Being a budding drummer myself I quickly focused on the drummer and his cool kit but only for a few moments, 25-30 seconds maybe, they saw me, they knew I was there and I thought maybe it was an unwritten rule that you don't do what I was doing, so I left. But I remembered the name of the band from bass drum, Queensryche. Don't know when I first heard what would have been silent lucidity and put 2 and 2 together but I'll be honest and even tho they were local to me, I never cared for them, I didn't think they were anything special. Granted all I ever heard from them was lucidity and I guess their follow up jet city woman, I just didn't care for this guy's voice.

Queensryche lead guitarist Chris DeGarmo, who was the principal songwriting geniuses behind their music said he will never rejoin Queensrÿche, and appears to want nothing to do with the music industry anymore. Without Chris, there is no more Queensryche. Geoff Tate may be a great singer, but he tried to make his wife and daughter official members of the band, and that’s what created all the problems that led to the breakup of the band. What kind of a fool works to make his band one of the world’s greatest bands, and then from out of nowhere, starts demanding that his band accept his wife and daughter as official band members. The music Geoff made with his wife and daughter under the banner of Queensryche was horrific. Geoff Tate is angry with everyone for not bowing down to his wife and daughter. The arrogance & narcissism from Geoff. Queensryche is dead and gone, .... forever. Please let them stay dead, and stop pestering Geoff Tate as though he is the one that's preventing everyone from getting back together. Before you convince Geoff to reform the band, ... you have to convince Chris. Chris has made repeated statements that he will NEVER rejoin Queensryche, and won't even say way. Chris does not appear to be seething with anger like Geoff Tate is, .... but it is clear that Chris is done with the band. ...

Not to mention the world tours… I don’t know that there’s any “day job” that can outpay being in a successful Rock band. Key word is successful… But that doesn’t necessarily bring you happiness. I met this man in the early 1980’s when I was in a Metal band . They were not known yet . They were at a bar in Connecticut on like a Thursday night , lol . Blinding snowstorm ; and we waited to meet him at their Silver Eagle tour bus in the parking lot after the short show . He was totally cool and the leader of our band gave him a cassette tape of two songs that we had recorded at a studio . A memory I’ll have forever … Classy interview - no negative mudslinging . Peace ☮️

one of the BEST bands I have ever seen live. They brung it during the Empire tour in 91. I am so happy I got to see them live. Sadly, ego's and interband family turmoil got in the way. Rockenfield clocked out a long time ago. I really enjoyed his playing but he seemed like he checked out. DeGarmo saw the light a long time ago. And I can just imagine that Tate can have an ego. They were an amazing band. I wish them all well.

As a veteran musician and what I learned in the last 40 years, us musicians don't know how to reconcile our emotions. We have too much anger issue...and we can never forgive anyone. Maybe it's our musician-character thing(?)...or maybe it's in our DNA? Lol. Whatever it is, every band I left were always ended a bitter relationship. In the last 2 to 3 decades, I had not contacted anyone (vice versa). So....I do understand what Geoff's saying. Sometimes it's better going forward without reuniting. This is how it is.

Who is asking Geoff to come back in the first place? The real Queensryche is the best the band has been since the Mindcrime era. All Geoff has to do is look in the mirror as to why things blew up. And it isn't his band to get back together in the first place. I have been there since the EP was released and love what Geoff did up to a certain point. But goodness Geoff, take some responsibility here. You were THE biggest headache and THE biggest reason you got canned! I wouldn't pay a penny for a reunion that would take the band in the opposite direction. Todd has done a spectacular job with the band and the last four albums are incredible. This ship sailed a long time ago. Move on!
