Stunning color combination! Absolutely lovely! I cannot get over that price! In Germany that would have sold for 5000 - 6000 EUR (in spring at least). And honestly, every C70 convertible has some kind of smallish issues unless the are 1st hand, 5-figure (price and mileage) cars.

I'm going to see one of these tomorrow, silver, the roof is also apparently slow on that but it's on for £795, decent MOT history. No rust showing on the MOT so hopefully a bargain for that price. I miss having a convertible and would be the ideal time to get a new one now it's getting warmer

Oh that's why it was so cheap because it needs a brake master cylinder and that's going to cost you £3k, you'd be better breaking it and parting it out, or selling it to me for £500 🤣

Mint! Those alloys are bloody gorgeous and the roof works. Not only would I try a brake bleed, but I'd replace the fluid too at the same time.

I totally understand you had to buy this beautiful Volvo convertible. It looks wonderful, it's an unbelievable bargain and you can put the roof down (I love to drive with an open roof, it's so much more intens). You must be very happy. I'm only wondering about the leather seats without heating. In Germany this is a mandatory combination. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious with the brakes.

I had a 2001 C70 2.4T Coupe a couple of years back and loved it - unfortunately the ETS light came on and I couldn't be bothered screwing around with sending the throttle body over to Canada for reprogramming so I scrapped it. Oops!

@@GeoffBuysCars good, was watching that on ebay, was a bit tatty and lower spec (i think, wind down windows in back) so think it went for a fair price. only the really mint ones and un molested (there is another 850 on ebay with decals, wrong wheels, aftermarket twin exhaust, painted from seats asking high money - surprise still for sale) seem to have high asking prices. whether they sell for that who knows.

@@matthewwiddows6319 personally I think one of two 850s have changed hands for big money, the car gets a lot of hype in the media but that hasn’t translated to values of cars moving up... seem to see the same examples sitting around not being sold. The one you were watching (and the one I bought) wasn’t being sold very well. It’s better than it looked, I feel I got a bargain, but it’s a strange market right now. So many good cars around for £1-2k that last year weren’t... eg this time last year I was excited to have won an 850 estate 2.5 10v auto for £1500.... this year I just bought a full fat T5 with leather for less. I’ll talk about this in my video I think... other people who do a lot with cars are also saying they have never been offered so many good cars for cheap...

I see online, I decide it’ll be amazing and I turn up and drive it home. Never opened the bonnet on the t5 and still haven’t... just got down there, chatted shit, paid the guy and drove to a beach 😂😂

Lovely beauty you got for no money! I own the same car, but the previous owner had the leather driver seat in such poor condition. I got another seat with leather in decent condition but turns out it is powered, unlike the one at my Volvo. Do you think I might be able to swap them? Or is it possible to change only the skins? No one here seems to know how to help me. Anyway thanks for your video!

It seems that every bloody C70 has brake issues! I have spent a fortune renewing brake parts, including brake fluid, front and rear calipers, pads and discs (grooved front!)! Latest £350 for vacuum piping to boost brake servo. Still an ardent Volvo freak owning other models (with excellent brakes!)

IMHO it‘s an image problem, remove the Volvo badges and replace them with Audi, BMW or Mercedes-Benz. People would pay much more than £500 for the same car. The C70 is simply an underrated convertible.

I've got a tidy MK1 C70 2.3 T5 manual coupe in Saffron! It came with a Ferrita cat back stainless sports exhaust and Pegasus R alloys, I paid £500 for it 👌The exhaust cost more than that 😂

@@GeoffBuysCars Has a cracking 13 speaker Dynaudio system. Was touted to be one of the best placed in a car back in 1998. Huge 400 watts alpine amp in a left panel in the trunk. Nice example of a c70. Mine is nowhere near that.
