2:01:00 sounds awfully fast but who knows, Kipchoge has stated several times that kamworor will take over after him. But that time must come in a fast marathon, Berlin or maybe London so New York is not possible for that. Who the hell are the "marathon predictors" you're referring to at 12:59? Given that he broke his personal best in the half marathon by 53s and assuming that he can replicate the performance in the marathon, his best bet would be breaking his personal best in the marathon by 1m and 46s. This would put him at 2:04:26. Besides, his last major marathon was 2:10:53. Thinking that he can run a 2:01:00 in the foreseeable future is ridiculous!
@fastinradfordable5 жыл бұрын
a little outrageous. but not rediculous... Seeing as he ran that pace for the 1/2, if he trained more towards the full marathon, he definitely has the same limits as kipchoge... which is no limit ; )
@benjaminbrandt59145 жыл бұрын
Course matters too. New York, where he ran 2:10:53 is a very slow course, whereas Berlin where Kipchoge ran 2:01:39, is extremely fast so that’s also a factir
@barchetta575m5 жыл бұрын
He is 26 years old and already ran a 2:06 over 7 years ago, when he was only 19. Marathons typically require vasts amounts of patience and discipline, which is why experienced runners dominate that discipline. At a young age, runners focus more on 5K, 10K and half marathons to 1) get experience under their belts and 2) take advantage of the sprinting speed they have while still young and strong. If Kamworor stays healthy, continues to gain experience, and continues to learn from Kipchoge, he can very well run under 2 hours and 1 minute for the marathon. Perhaps even go under 2 hours. Again, he is only 26 and has a decade to focus on marathon running.

AllTimeTop10s 12 hours ago I miss Samuel wanjiru best marathon and half marathon runner ever. 3 Kiswahili Kitukuzwe 254 ... and Samuel Wanjiru (a Kikuyu) wasn't even Kalenjin! Actually, even Patrick Makau (Kamba), David Rudisha (Maasai), Helen Obiri (Kisii), *"the Manangoi brothers"* (Maasai), and last but not least *" our gallant Ethiopian neighbors"* aren't Kalenjin either... therefore there goes the *"Kalenjin myth"* out of the window! This does not in anyway diminish the unmatched Kalenjin world dominance by sheer numbers for decades now! It is mind boggling if you come to think of it! I can confidently and boldly proclaim that no other nation in the history of the world comes even close to the *"Kalenjin nation"* of Kenya in dominance *"between 400 meters all the way to the marathon!!!"* I neither belong to the Kalenjin nor any of these other Kenyan ethnic groups that I have mentioned above, however, but I am just another proud Kenyan fan.

In swimming if you break a record in a split it counts as an official record. Eg 400m record in a 800m race. Does the 15km record count or would he have to do it in a 15km race?

@@TotalRunningProductions In swimming (at least in a pool) the pool length is precise and they have electronic touch pads so the split measurements are exact.
