People have to understand he wasn't a lead character on the Cosby show! I'm glad he's doing better

They should make a show with Sondra and Elvin - they'd basically be the modern Claire and Cliff . Sondra was the most underrated Huxtable.

8:00 big man. I would’ve donated $5k to charity and took the remaining $20k to get right
@OurKindofEntertainmentАй бұрын
Yeah, it was a kind gesture because I believe he donated the $ to a charity that helped actors in need. However, like you said it would've been best had he gave a portion of that blessing to others and kept a large bulk for himself until he got on his feet. Tyler and a few other people gave him roles here and there but nothing truly sustainable to get him let's say 'above Trader Joe's wages' so to speak...
@marriejames01Ай бұрын
What a fool. He can’t be on here crying about being broke when someone gave him a hand up.
@OurKindofEntertainmentАй бұрын
@@marriejames01 geez I just realized he had quit his grocery store job and then gave away the $25k?! Yeah, he messed up there…let’s no forget not long after he began getting a bit of a come up in terms of acting gigs the world got hit with the shutdown in 2020 and a couple years later the actor/writer strikes…so even if Owens had a slight career resurgence; it wasn’t gonna last too long due to events that impacted the industry as a whole.
@mikekillagreen9432Ай бұрын
@marriejames01 Don't hate..some people have pride and don't want hand outs. 25k in LA would be spent in two months.

He donated the money to a retirement home for thespians where the actor who played Grandpa Huxtable was living at the time.

It does make you realize how easily & quickly these TV & movie stars, disappear from the radar. Often times they're not just set for life, financially. They still have to grind.

I don’t get it. What exactly are his expenses that he’s still not on his feet?? Why does a college educated man, who graduated with honors, have to go back to Trader Joe’s to work? Why doesn’t he teach acting again? Something doesn’t sound right to me.

Maybe that job was the stepping stone he needed to reach his potential but social media busybodies took that away from him

@@666one111 yeah doesn’t make sense. Why do a low paying gig like working at a grocery store when he’s a college educated man with a degree that graduated with honors??

He’s doing something else with his money. Maybe downsize his home? Is his wife working?

Acting doesn't pay well unless you're famous. There can be long gaps between work plus they pay high taxes and pay agents, managers and publicists. Big checks, high taxes and may have to make that last for two years. He doesn't work that much and when he does he probably gets the minimum..Residuals pay almost nothing because of streaming. Plus living in NY

My mom is like that. She would get a lot of money and have a party or give it away then be broke again. That's their business and their responsibility. It's comfortable for some people. So leave them alone.

He gets acting gigs, but they don't pay a whole lot and probably don't get benefits like Health Insurance dental care Life Insurance etc.All those things you have to pay out of pocket if you want them. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.Maybe there's some union that does provide such benefits.

So this man was broke was given a bag 💰 gives the bag away. Goes back to the job he quit and still struggles 🤔...seems like he wants to be a struggling actor for the sake of the art 🎭. He cares about the craft not financial stability
