It seems every other KZbin cook has been trying to get louder and more extravagant. Throughout all the lunatics with insane editing and jumping out of windows whilst trying to cook a gruyere souffle, here's this guy called Geoff very calmly showing us all how to make a fantastic-looking mushroom pate. 10/10 looks fantastic, great delivery.

Hi Vansuddles. I did try jumping out of a window, and dancing too. But it just caused a larger persistant ache in my ageing hips. So I am stuck with just cooking. I am glad you enjoy the channel.

It's good with sherry as the wine ingredient too! I make it without garlic (it gives me problems) and have also added a bit of cream sometimes. It's lush all round! Thank you for sharing.

Hi Kathy. It will keep in the fridge for a good few days. However you can easily reduce the recipe to make a smaller amount.

Nice job Geoff, but I think I'd be making it a a bit finer, if no other reason than to emulate the chicken liver pâté. I'll be giving it a go for this Christmas.

Small correction. For the mushrooms (in this case), a kilogram of mushrooms would be 2.2 pounds rather than 1.2 pounds. Mushroomy goodness! Thanks for the video! Might give this a go!

How long will it keep?

HI Sandy. I have kept mine now for 4 days and it is still good. I think probably up to a week is as long as it will keep, stored in the fridge. You should be able to freeze it too and it should defrost nicely.

M+ s used to do a really nice vegetarian pate.....thst didnt include mushrooms ( im allergic). But stopped doing it 😭 ive tried to find others but all seem to include them 🤢 any ideas on variations .....would something like betroot or a root veg work...never tried because i dint want to poison anyone 🤣

HI Rachel. Lentils and walnuts seem to pair together nicely as pate. I see there are several recipes available for that. Don't worry about poisoning people, that's half the fun, LOL - the stories I could tell.

On the ingredients, 1 kg of mushrooms is 2.2 lbs, not 1.2 lbs. I hope this helps.

There are only 3-5 % of the people who are vegatarian, so don't bother to cook for them

Hi Pim. It is true that about 7% of the UK population is vegetarian. But is some countries the percentage is very much higher. However I didn't make this video specifically for vegetarians. I made it as something that I would like to eat.
