Another method You can use the actual distance =map distance ×map scale Remeber that when you calculate a distance using topographical we use 0,5

A lot of learners make mistakes or forget to convert before working out their solutions, this is due to exams stress and or pressure at the time. Hence it is advisable to measure in cm 🙂

You can but only if you will be able to remember to convert back to cm. However, I would advise you to stick to cm🙂

Hi they teach us smth else, so can you just please explain what is this compared to urs lol. So basically it asks distance from coral street to johns street= 10cm Scale= 1/150000 Then my teacher teachs us to divide 100000 by 150000 bc 1cm = 100000 and so i got 15/10 then we divide them which gives us 1.5 and then multiply by 0.15 and 10 (which is the distance)

That sounds confusing. But this is how I would approach it. Times 10cm with 150000 and get the answer then divide your answer with 100000 to get your final answer in kms🙂

Oh no that’s a huge mistake. You must check the scale of the map you’re using first before you could convert anything.
