3:24 This image is exagerated to showcase difference. Proportionally to size, the earth is so round it would fall within tolerance of a regulation billiards ball, and would be smoother than the surface of a pool ball. afaik this has been disproven its still way to exagerated but the surface would indeed be bumpy enough to not be smooth enough like a bowling/pool ball (which ball it was supposed to compared against is also region specific making it less believable in the first place) to be actually regulation tournament approved they would indeed be to bumpy (although not by much)

In case anyone is interested, Montenegro is not some racist name, it just means “Black Mountain.”

Wait which mountain in Montenegro is the aforementioned “Black Mountain
@SovietReunionYT9 ай бұрын
*facepalm* You write like a 9 year old trying too hard to be an adult. The question makes perfect sense. Why would the country be named Black Mountain if there isnt a mountain with that name in it? You're the one who needs to read and think carefully before responding. To answer the actual question, the slavic word for "mountain" means "mountain range", not "mountain peak" like it does in English. So the Black Mountain in question is the mountain range that Montenegro is located on. IIRC it's part of the same chain of mountain ranges as the Alps, that chain extends across the Balkans all the way to the Blacks Sea. Edit: Aaaand now the comment I replied to is gone...

@SovietReunionYT Hi there! I'm Montenegrin, and I wanted to clarify something about our country's name. It does indeed refer to a single mountain, Lovćen, which the Venetians nicknamed "Monte Negro," meaning "Black Mountain." We call it "Crna Gora," which also means "Black Mountain." Over time, this name came to represent the surrounding region. It's unrelated to the Alps or the Black Sea.

So it's easy to forget and to feel fuzzy feelings when you live in the nation that benefitted from the colonization of another place (re: british loving irish) "Throughout the entire period of the Famine, Ireland was exporting enormous quantities of food to England. In "Ireland Before and After the Famine," Cormac Ó Gráda points out, “Although the potato crop failed, the country was still producing and exporting more than enough grain crops to feed the population. But that was a 'money crop' and not a 'food crop' and could not be interfered with.” Up to 75 percent of Irish soil was devoted to wheat, oats, barley and other crops that were grown for export and shipped abroad while the people starved." 5:43 ARE YUO FAMILIAR WITH THE FACT THAT HISPANIC/LATINO IS AN ETHNICITY OF THE WHITE RACE!!!!!??????
@mr_silver_eyes7 ай бұрын
Actually it’s not a race. It’s culturally and linguistically defined group. Hispanics/Latinos are of several different races. Yes, a fair amount of Latinos are white, and some are black. There are even Asian Latinos, who are rarely talked about outside of Latin America.

@@leirumf5476 It's a biological reality. As real as gender. Every single aspect of the human body is slightly different between the races - from the skull to the foot and from the brain to the kidneys, all a little bit different. You shouldn't treat an individual person based on race. But to deny race in macro societal analysis is folly.

What’s that word that you use for bat (the anamal) or bat (baseball)
@SovietReunionYT9 ай бұрын
You would have a chance of having a point if not for the fact that no large group of humans is isolated enough to form a separate subspecies. Race is mostly just the human version of a dog breed, and that itself is mostly just a fancy way of saying subspecies. And for a species to be divided into subspecies, there must be groups that do not regularly exchange genetic material in significant amounts. But that doesnt apply to humans. We have boats. All but a handful of humans have for thousands of years been in constant contact with the globally connected human population. And people in port cities intermarry a lot. So genetic information has been spreading freely between every corner of the world. You could be a native in Tasmania 5000 years ago and you'd still have an uninterrupted chain of intermarriage across Australia, Indonesia, the Indian Ocean coast, East Africa, across the continent, up the coast to West Africa, north to the Maghreb, across the sea to Spain, north to Britain, east along the coast to Finland, then on land into Siberia. So there's just no way for a beneficial new mutation to remain isolated to a certain population. The only differences beyond looks are things specific to the region like melanin and adaptation to local diseases. And it's silly to try to inflate that into there being distinct groups of humans with significant genetic differences. The one and only exception is the historical separation of the Old World and New Word humans for a long enough time to potentially allow development of subspecies. But the near extinction of the New World humans after the disease exchange in 1492 means there are almost none left who dont have a significant Old World genetic component after 500 years of intermarriage.
