As an Indian, who has been to Bhutan quite often, I wanted to make some additional points. (i) The Indian currency Rupee is freely accepted in Bhutan (Currency: Ngultrum) where 1 Rupee = 1 Ngultrum (ii) The Indian language Hindi is quite well understood by majority of the nationals as most of the people do pursue their higher studies in India (iii) Correction: The Indian counterpart of the Phuntsholing entry point was pronounced as JALGAON (which means Water Village) but actually it is JAIGAON (which means victory village). The map showed correctly though :-) (iv) Geographically, Bhutan only has 2% arable land which is concentrated in the Terai plains region which borders India, where generally rice is cultivated Note: And yes , the queen might really be the most beautiful monarch in the world right now. Oh yeah , the food is very spicy and I am saying that as an Indian :-)

Honestly that tourism tariff is pretty brilliant. By integrating accommodations with passage into the country and charging them directly, cultivate a decently inviting destination for tourists without the problem of foreign-operated resorts sending the tourism money right back out of the country, as well as encouraging tourists to leave the hotel/resort area with the built in tour guides.
@luvsuneja
@luvsuneja 8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it is brilliant. I am Indian so I didn't have to pay the tariff. But, I was impressed with quite a few things. Due to Bhutan engaging mostly high end tourists, stuff like Bhutanese handicrafts, cab fares and hotel fares are higher than neighbouring countries. Also, people seemed to have universal healthcare and education which is quite spectacular for South Asia. Overall, the people seemed quite chill and contented.

i love bhutan and its attitudes towards the environment and wildlife, but quite frankly the culture laws are disgusting. You should not have laws in a country dictating how to dress, or anything else to do with culture. people living in bhutan are under absolutely no obligation or responsibility to continue the culture of the country, and to exile people just bc some people don't want to live by these rules is sickening.

Russell culture is something that doesn't need to be protected. it is malleable and can change according to what individuals want to do. there is nothing wrong with this. every nation is special in their own way and has their own unique culture and every nation's culture has changed over time. now for a government to try to make laws dictating what people need to do, without taking into consideration what individuals want to do is wrong, and to make them leave bc of this is even worse.

The current Doklam Standoff is actually brought into limelight by the Indian media (propaganda). Bhutanese government never asked for Indias assistance on it. India acted independently which undermined our sovereignty. This chaos in the border would not happen if India never imposed economic sanctions and rig our elections whenever Bhutan tried creating diplomatic ties with China. Bhutan want diplomacy with China but India is jealous. That's all.

NurusTheSquid Well, Japan is very strict against immigration (which is contributing to our population decline.) and although there are many foreigners who stays in Japan, they can't get permanent residency and are not counted as part of the population. I could go on, but to put it shortly, no, there aren't many people like me, or at the very least not by Japanese standards. The only reason my parents were able to move to Japan was because of their job. It's sad really, our country needs to be more immigrant friendly, especially if we are to remain relevant as an economic world power.

I really admire Bhutan's legacy when it comes to preserving and protecting their nature and natural wonders. I really like how they treat mother nature and tries very hard to avoid damaging/polluting things to the environment. I respect them very much for these terms from your Asian brothers and sisters in the Philippines 😊

I really like how you go to the details of each country and carefully choreograph it in your videos. Its like the best source of infotainment have been through. This video was an eye-opener, and I stay in North East India and I have been to Bhutan once (only in the border town of Samdrup Jongkhar) but the pristine environment is hypnotising me to come again and do a whole country tour. This video was very helpful to guide an overview of Bhutan and really grateful for your efforts. Thanks. Hope your series educates and enriches many enthusiasts all over.

@Kim Jr Idiotic lies. 1. Check historical data of population density across the world and you will find India is not overpopulated, its population is around what it has always been in proportion to world population. 2. Better that India invades than China. Had India not invaded Sikkim, China would have and it would have severely jeopardised Indian millitary defenses. 3. North East has always been an integral part of India since the days of Mahabharata and Ahom Kingdom.
