@@Jz9222 I'm sorry, but that is such a croc of shit. I don't know all the numbers, but Sweden certainly was incremental in saving Finland from the Soviets, specifically, total annexation by them. The Swedish government sent ~135.000 rifles, 347 machine guns, 450 light machine guns, ~50.000.000 rounds of ammunition, 92 anti-tank guns, 100 anti-aircraft guns, 144 other field guns, ~300.000 artillery shells, 300 sea mines, 500 depth charges. 138 aircraft were sent to Finland from Sweden + a bit more, but they were privately fundraised and have no clear numbers. Sweden also broke the rule of export of military munitions in peacetime by importing some 200 planes that were sent by other countries to be assembled in Sweden and then sent to Finland. They set up a volunteer flying corps in Finland and a flying school in Sweden for Swedish volunteers. Later when Sweden imported 44 Finnish-bought American planes, Sweden was so busy assembling them that the assembly of their own airforce was hampered. Sweden allowed Finnish submarines to be repaired in Swedish docks. ~15000 Swedes volunteered to fight, ~10000 of which got accepted and ~8000 who became part of organized units in Finland to fight in the war until it ended. Some 80.000 Finnish children were sent to Sweden during the winter war. Keep in mind, this is only the winter war and not the continuation war, where contributions were also made. I'm so tired of my country being called cowardly despite our best efforts to help our Finnish brethren all the while trying to stay neutral and saving our country and people from merciless bombing. You have to keep in mind the times they were in. It's easy to put blame in hindsight, knowing what happened. But Sweden successfully navigated a precarious situation in Europe, one where Sweden was on thin icewhile not ignoring the plight of our neighbors. Finlands sak är vår!

We had to make a peace deal with Soviet Union since Germany was losing the war so government realized that Soviet Union could invade Finland and taking harsh actions against people like sending most men to gulags since Stalin would have seen Finnish people as a threat. Finnish and German military brass tried to agree on withdrawal for a quite a long time. Finnish government and military commanders sent fake information for Soviet Union about German forces withdrawal and there was even fake battles so that Soviet Union commanders believed that we were pushing Germans out. I don't remember 100% sure how the situation escalated but then Soviet Union found out that we weren't actually trying to get Germans out quickly enough so they gave really strict time limits for withdrawal of German troops. Since Germans were not willing to withdraw at those time limits (Germans were already withdrawing their troops to Norway and Europe since they needed troops there) Finnish commanders had no choice but fight Germans out of Northern Finland. In addition, the majority of the Croatian population refused to fight and welcomed the Germans as liberators. When it comes to Yugoslavia in the Second World War, the only resistance to the invasion came from units in Serbia and Montenegro. On the graph, it seems that it is only a few days, but from the inside, looking at everything from the beginning of the capitulation, the Serbs fought against the Germans, and even overthrew their government, which wanted to surrender to the Germans with the protests of the citizens ``better a war than a pact, better grave than a slave''

Legally, Finland participated in the war from June 25, 1941 to April 27, 1945, although it is sometimes claimed that the Soviet-Finnish War ("Winter War") of 1939-1940 was also part of World War II. Most of the time Finland fought on the side of the Axis countries, trying to take revenge and regain the lands lost as a result of the Soviet-Finnish war, however, after the defeat in the war against the USSR, it concluded a truce and began fighting against German troops, and in March 1945 declared war on Nazi Germany. Participation in the war ended on April 27, 1945, when the remnants of the defeated Wehrmacht forces left the country.

@@artanbehmard151 yeah, funny thing is American foreign policy haven't changed in 200 years either since the day their nation is born. The British Empire even worry about American expansionism, but then France got in the way but still the English burn down the white house, but not before the Americans defeating the British in another far off battle to boost their ego. the German Empire criticize the Americans as being a "world Police" with their tendencies to fight the Spanish Empire and killing German Imperial Advisories in Latin America, Caribbean nations, and Filipino islands... which as you know, the "World Police" criticism the Germans remark against Americans age really well 100 years later. The Cold War devolved from "Capitalism vs Communism" to "MY capitalists and Communists vs Theirs" as The Americans even funded Communist forces like China, Cambodia, and Ethiopian Anarchists against the Soviet Union and Vietnam. While Soviet Union have to fund Capitalist factions in Nigeria, Egypt, and India against those red states. At this point the British, Germans, and Russians become pretty confused what Americans really "stand" for, because Logically... Monarchies, Fascism, and Communism can't ALL be "Democracies" at the same time...
