It is not a "sad" thing in reality, it is something normal, I also speak Spanish and that difference is what gives richness to our language, for example it would be boring if everyone in Latin America spoke like in Spain, besides that is almost impossible because languages always end up creating new words from the situations their speakers experience

Never been. But my Grandfather spent some time there in the early 1950s. Landed in Wonsan and took a scenic tour all the way up to the Chosin Reservoir where he met the locals along with 100,000 Chinese that were also visiting the area. I don't think he would've recommended DPRK, but he always spoke highly of South Korea and the people he "worked" with from there! Thanks for another fun episode Barbs!

Well it makes sense as a communist country's ideology is that the people (workers) are the common owners of the country, the land, the government, etc. Thus they are ''democratic'' in the sense that the people are the common leaders of the nations.... We all know that most ''communist'' nations have an almost 100% score at becoming ruthless dictatorships under megalomaniacs, but that's just in practice.

3:35 ~ 3:40 the reason isn’t that simple. If timezones are applyed correctly to each country, 12 o’clock should be the time when the sunlight perpendiculary meets the surface area your country is on. To put it easier, at 12 PM the sun should be directly above your head. For political & historical reasons, South Korea(seoul) follows Japan(tokyo)’s timezone. But as you can see on the map, seoul is further west to tokyo. Because of that, the sun doesn’t meet the land perpendiculary at 12 in seoul. It actually does at 12:30PM. So South Korea uses a timezone that is 30 minutes earlier than what is should be. North korea is actually using a ‘correct’ timezone. P.S (edit) - north korea now uses the same timezone as south korea

I'm not sure Wikipedia can be a strong source or not. But here's the link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_of_Japan. On the right side it labels the Chinese name of "Sea of Japan", literally means sea of Japan, the characters very different from Korean Hanja. You can use a translate tool to confirm that. What's more, just use common sense to think about that: It's very wired for Chinese do not call East China Sea as "East Sea", but call a sea on the east side of Korean Peninsula as "East Sea".

Of course, it also depends on whether if China is being chummy with Japan or not. If ties are strained, you can bet China will say "East Sea" to stoke nationalist tensions, but if things are cool, China more or less will just let the issue slide.
