The Afghanistan episode came out on October 15th, 2014. 1981 days later, the Saint Vincent and Grenadines episode came out on March 18th, 2020. Saint Vincent and Grenadines is the 148th country in alphabetical order. 1982 / 148 = 13.392 13.392 × (193 - 148) = 602.635, 603 if we round it up. March 18th 2020 + 603 days = Thursday, November 11th, 2021, which is when the Zimbabwe episode should come out.

@samweldon81042 жыл бұрын
Right? I've never understood that. Like, if we're separating based on cultural differences, then I would argue that SW Asia and East Asia are more different than SW Asia and Europe, so why is the split where it is? I mean, we all know why, it's because it's based on a Euro-centric view of the world where Europe is somehow apart from Asia. Even as a kid, I never understood why we divided Europe and Asia like that. Frankly, I would even say a case could be made for Afro-Eurasia to all be one continent, just like how some call the Americas one continent. Then again, at least Africa is somewhat physically cut off from Eurasia, so that division makes some sense, but Europe and Asia are for sure one continent.

@@theblackryvius6613 The Suez Canal, technically. But if we're going off Atlas Pro's criteria that a continental boundary is where a climatic region is at its thinnest point, then the boundary is still between the Sinai Peninsula and the rest of Egypt. However, he also split Eurasia into Asia, Europe, Anarabia, Achaemenia, and Aindia based on mountain ranges, although in essence Europe, Anarabia (including the Iranian plateau), and India are more like subcontinents--divided more culturally than geographically.

I see it as more of this: Canada&America are the older siblings, raised by Britain (With Uncle France coming in and spending time with Canada when Britain wasn't looking) and when America went through their teenage rebellion and became independent, Britain went off to go find new kids to raise (read: colonise). They adopted these two unrelated kids, Australia and NZ, who lived together reluctantly at first then grew closer as they grew up. The two sets of kids meet for the first time in the trenches of WW1 when Britain introduces them. After the war, Britain moved back to Europe and NZ&Australia got independence. During WW2, Australia, Canada, America and New Zealand only got closer. Canada and New Zealand somewhat rely on their bigger, more powerful older siblings, but are annoyed they keep getting mistaken as their older siblings when traveling overseas. Although America spends most of their time with Canada and Australia sounds most of their time with NZ because their houses are right next to each other, during family reunions America and Australia will sneak off to do crazy shenanigans together (Probably annoying Britain by butchering the Queen's English) while Canada and New Zealand chat about hockey and rugby while sipping on tea.

Actually, the eastern part of Indonesia, which is not only West Papua but also Maluku Islands and Nusa Tenggara Islands is part of Oceania, not only geographically but also ethnically and genetically. Indonesia is not only part of Southeast Asia but also plays an important role for Oceania. Love Oceania

They are mixed and can not entirely be called melanesian. Just looking at them you can see they dont look like papuans (which doesnt make any sense to begin with) but dont look like the rest of Indonesia either. If we can believe the migrations that are mapped out then it says Moluccans etc are the ancestors of papuans, not the other way around. And as many of them do have austronesian ancestry also, they sometimes look like polynesians (especially when theyre bald)

When pronouncing "Macquarie", emphasise the "quar" part, not the "Mac" part.

I also had this thought of pronouncing it as "mercury". IDK if they sound the same.
@markleon4114 жыл бұрын
@@barocaalamka no. It's pronounced as I have indicated above. Governor Lachlan Macquarie was the first Governor of the colony of New South Wales so there are many things around Sydney named after him, such as Macquarie University, the suburb of Macquarie Park and Macquarie Street is where state parliament is located. Sydneysiders are very familiar with the pronunciation.

There are native Filipinos called "Negritos" that strongly resemble Melanesian people and speak Tagalog.. kind of a historic vestige of humanity

Maybe. But were not quite sure if the Melanesian are also short in stature. My former history professed even once hypothesised that Negritos were descendants of Dravidians driven out from India. .

I’m Polynesian. The language thing - some languages are more mutually intelligible than others. Samoan and Tongan are DEFINITELY NOT mutually intelligible, they are quite different actually. Cook Is and Maori are close but Tokelauan and Tuvaluan are probably the closest. Fluent Tokelauan and Tuvaluan speakers can hold a conversation speaking their respective languages with little to no problem. But there are definitely words that are generic throughout the islands of Polynesia e.g. fetu/whetu = star, lagi/rangi = heavens, moana = ocean, fenua/whenua/fanua = land, va’a/vaka/waka = Polynesian canoe, fale/whare = house, toto = blood etc

Worth mentioning to people reading this that in Maori, WH = F. So when you see Fetu/Whetu, just know they're pronounced very similarly, it's not like Weh-too or something.

Chuukese (Mortlockese): Fuu - Star Láng - Sky Fonu - Land Waa - Boat Falang - the cooking house Manaman - supernatural power And recently I learned that the word we use “Tirow” has exactly the same meaning as “Tulou” in some Polynesian languages. We use it when we pass people. We crouch forward, pass, and say “tirow”.

I argue that this is Oceania (a continent): As south as New Zealand, as east as the Juan Fernandez Islands including the Galápagos Islands and Clipperton Island, up to south of the Aleutian Islands, past the islands in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, past Palau, and going just west of the island of Papua, also including the Ashmore and Cartier Islands but not Timor-Leste and the Cocos (Keeling) and Christmas islands.
