Fun Fact 1: Sindh is the only fully pakistani region that is mentioned in Indian national anthem! This is because the Indian national anthem was adopted from a song written decades before the partition of 1947! Fun Fact 2: no indian mountaineer can scale the K2! This is because it is in the indo-pak disputed region controlled by pakistan & indian govt will have to accept it is in Pakistan to grant permission to apply for a pakistani visa!!

I would add the following: although Urdu is an official language (of which 77% of Pakistanis can speak), only 7.08% of Pakistanis identify Urdu as their mother tongue. The districts in Karachi are the only districts in Pakistan in which the plurality of residents identify Urdu as their mother tongue (Source: 2017 Pakistan Census.) That being said, I have met four sets of Pakistanis in my small hometown in the US, all hailing from Lahore in Punjab. In casual conversation, they all used Urdu. Since I have been teaching myself Hindi, I have been able to deliver a few phrases to these Pakistanis I've met. They will point out that words like "parivaar" or "namaste" are Hindi terms, but they understood what they meant. The mutual intelligibility between Hindi and Urdu is incredibly high.

Edit: a reply corrected me, the "i" in Pakistan is not part of the izafat rule but the examples i gave of izafat are still correct and they said its still a good explanation of it, read this if u wanna learn about Urdu/Persian language but it doesn't add anything to geography the "i" in Pakistan is a literary technique in Urdu/Persian called izafaat. Izafaat works by using a word, that is not necessary an adjective, to describe another word - connecting the 2 with a zer (vowel diacritic that makes a e/i sound) - in a "root word" e "discriptive word" format. Paak-i-staan means land of the pure (pure e land). Another famous example is the koh-i-noor, the biggest of the diamonds that the British stole from us. Koh=mountain, noor=light so koh e noor is mountain e light, mountain is the word itself, light adds to it's meaning so imagine a mountain that's literally made from light, that is the koh e noor. The word for parliament is majlis e shura, majlis refers to a group and shura means advice so a majlis e shura is a govt advisory body (group e advice). In the intro to the song tajdar e haram (crown e holy lands, it's a popular religious song in Pakistan) God/Allah is refered to as "kaatib e taqdiir", "writer e destiny" which, by now, you'd know means "writer of destiny". A similar thing can be done using the letter waw (makes an "o" sound) to list things in a similar way to how we use triple emphasis in English. For example, in Faiz Ahmed Faiz's famous poem mujhse pehli si mohabbat meri mehboob na maang (O my love, dont ask me to love you like I did at firsty) he says that the curses have past centuries are woven into "resham o atlas o kamkhaab" meaning "silk and satin and [idk what kamkhaab is exactly but its another type of cloth]". You can see how it's like a list specifically there to build emphasis, in this case how prevalent outdated attitudes are in society. It doesn't have to be 3 items it can 2 or more but the only thing in English I could compare it to is triple emphasis which is always 3 items.

3:11 the Indus Valley peoples spoke a language that might have been the linguistic ancestor to all dravidian languages. The Indus Valley Peoples migrated to the southern part of India (because of a 100 year-long drought that happened worldwide, so they had to move to a more humid environment), but one people group stayed in the place that the other Indus Valley peoples left behind, and that one isolated people group adapted to live in these inhospitable dry conditions. This is just my theory based on a chart about world history by usefulcharts, it could be true, who knows.

@@Variouscartoontopic So much of Karachi is dominated ethnographically by the "Urdu speaking" community; This is an umbrella term for individuals who migrated from India to Pakistan during partition, from many different provinces but in particular UP, Rajasthan, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Bihar etc. Many of them would initially speak their native languages but with time would begin to use Urdu as a lingua franca and took the name respectively. This large umbrella community forms around half of Karachi's population. This is followed by Pathans (15%), then Punjabis (10.7%), then Sindhi's (10.67%) (interestingly are a minority, though their population is growing), then Saraiki's (5%) (basically Southern Punjabis), then Baloch (4%), as well as many others. There is additionally estimated to be around 2.5 to 3 million ethnic Bengalis as well as around 400,000 Rohingya approximately in Karachi, from years long migration in the case of the latter, whereas the Bengali population was there mainly before 1971. There is also a large population of African origin Siddi who mainly speak the Baloch language, numbering anywhere from 250k to 1 million also predominantly in Karachi. This is just scratching the surface of course, there are many other groups not mentioned. As such it is a very large and ethnically diverse city. Though I agree with you that its been mismanaged with poor development in recent years, and is currently one giant mess Lahore has been built up much more effectively by contrast and I argue it's a much more properly managed city.

Over the years there have been many revolts and stuff. However majority of baloch dont really want independence. About 25 to 30 percent maybe do due to balochistan despite being the most mineral rich province is the least developed. However there is development taking place nowadays. Lots of controversies too will not explain all until asked to. And one more thing about the Brauhis. Brauhis however do have Dravidian influence such as similarity in language، ethnically brauhis themselves also claim that they are Baloch and many tribes who speak brauhi and then the same tribe in a different area speaking Balochi. However it is debatable. And Majority of the baloch people live in sindh around 40 percent are ethnically baloch mostly adopted sindhi culture too. And said to be the largest ethnic group in sindh too. The national language of Pakistan is Urdu. But people speak regional language. But still everyone knows how to speak and understand Urdu. But the situation in India is that people speak their regional language but cannot understand and speak their national language. Like Kurla, Malayalam, Punjabi, Kanda language speakers cannot understand a single word. But every person in Pakistan knows how to speak their regional language as well as the national language.

Fun fact, India doesn't have national languages but only two official languages: english and hindi. The regional languages are recognized and taught in the respective states. Also english and hindi are used interchangeably. Otherwise India wouldn't be run at all.

Definitely almost every Pakistani can understand & speak Urdu bcz it was imposed on us, it didn't have any connection to the indigenous people of the land of current day Pakistan. One more thing, India doesn't have any national language unlike Pakistan, English & Hindi both are official languages of Pakistan whereas Indian govt. recognizes around 22 regional languages including Sindhi.

A question: What's that territory that Pakistan claims but doesn't control on Kashmir that's not part of any Autonomous Territory? Like, if you ask the Pakistani government about that territory, they'll say that it is a part of Pakistan, but isn't actually a part of any subdivision?

Its administered by India, to Pakistan it is still "occupied". The part Pakistan does control is Azad Kashmir or "Free" Kashmir. So usually on Pakistani maps, the rest of Kashmir is listed as Indian- Occupied Kashmir
