For me, DS2 was the best just because of the variety of builds you could do. Double-duelding weapons, dozens of spells, very colorful. It really made me feel like I could do whatever build I wanted.

By the way, your ideal way of "electing" the president is essentially what the ancient athenians did with sortition. There's a movement of people that are still actively campaigning for the designation of government official through this system (similar to the way we pick people for jury duty for instance). There's actually a lot of good arguments supporting this idea.

In the UK you can't resign from being an MP because many years ago, it was not a career, but a responsability. So they made it impossible to "resign". There are loopholes that are used now to allow it, but once upon a time, people were forced into office. So it has happened! :D

Japan coaching comments! Not that they're extremely necessary this time around: 0:23 telling you you're by Fuji brings your circle of error down to a few tens of kms from the get go. The sign at 1:13 saying "Central Fuji" would suggest you're in the city of Fuji or nearby it, on the Shizuoka Prefecture side (south side) of the mountain. Aside from the road numbers, there's not much else to do with this one!

I'm not into the souls games. Then again the only one I played was II and I got lost quite early on. But to me they feel very slow and laborious fights and lots of parrying. I'm a hack and slash fan so give me Diablo or even God Of War over a Souls game. On the investing front I agree people love a gamble. I'm not one of them, never gambled with real money. My height of gambling is Spelunky 2 dice but now I've got the knack of getting 7 almost every time.
