i saw george play this song at the Keystone Korner in San francisco in 1981 and before the club closed. i sat 10 feet from the stage and KNEW he was going to play it when he said " the next song..." i was going to scream 'El Mar!" but i kept quiet. he went on to say ".....from my White Rabbit album - El Mar." i just saw him tonight at cache creek casino near sacramento and am sitting her reflecting....his playing is not what it was... his fingers appear arthritic. but he'll always be the king.

I too...saw george play this song at the Keystone Korner in San Francisco in Dec. of 1981. Great show!!! I still have the concert reviews from the newspaper. The Keystone event was recorded...but the live LP never came out. Too bad!!

White Rabbit album turned me on to guitar jazz when I was in college in the early eighties. Still one of my favorites.

Off of the White Rabbit album on the CTI label around 1972 or 1973. This is a total treat my absolute favorite composition ever by George Benson not to mention being accompanied by Earl.

@magnusdude61 I suppose it's natural that George won't have the speed and dexterity now that he had in his youth, but it's sad nevertheless. I've noticed him seeming to struggle over the past few years. But he's still got ten times the chops of most cats!

George IS INCREDIBLE but I'm just noticing that Wes Montgomery the only other guy I compare him too is a lot heavier and melodic imo. But don't get me wrong love George.
