Great interview!! George is a master musician and a consummate human being. He was living in Maui in the ‘80 and we bumped to each other few times. He would sit in in the local jazz dives and hotel gigs that we local musicians performed at. Amazing player!!! Wonderful gentleman!!

I have so much respect for George, not just because of his talent or his hits but because of his humility. Out of all of the years he’s been doing his thing, he still seems like such a sweet gentleman… and he’s also a great story teller.

I'm a guitarist in Melbourne, Australia, and George has been a hero of mine, both musically and personally, since I would estimate sometime in the late 70's when, as a kid, I would read my older brothers guitar player magazines whilst beginning to take up the guitar seriously. I vividly remember seeing George on tv singing and playing "Broadway" and it literally blew my mind. I hope George understands the impact he has had on peoples lives all around the world. Thanks George.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Mr. George Benson some years ago as he was promoting his then current album. In 1975 I saw GB at tiny place in San Francisco called the Keystone Korner. He played all the Bad Benson cuts. My god! Incredible chops!! At the end he sang Georgia and everyone’s head exploded. Later in life I crossed paths with him at several gigs and learned what kind beautiful man he is.

I heard breezing when I was in the 7th grade. In 1976. The rest is my history. I have dedicated my whole life trying to sound like Mr Benson. Almost got it. But their's only one George Benson. Lol. Just imagine from Public school. Junior High school to high School straight to College getting a music degree. Still studying. I have been playing guitar since I was five yrs old to now. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this interview and GIVING HIM HIS FLOWERS. He is more than deserving. This man is one of my favorite artists of all time. I became hooked on his artistry at age 7 or 8 when he did that duet with Ms. Ree "Love All The Hurt Away." I couldn't remember my Easter speech one year because I couldn't get that song out of my head. He is one person, along with the late Betty Wright, who I regret never having a personal conversation with. I just saw him last week on "Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer" and he sang the song 20/20. There has to be a part 2 & 3. Three segments may not even cover this man's path of GENIUS !! This entire new generation needs to be hipped to this man and what he has accomplished. Loved this !!!😊❤

Hearing people thought Donny Hathaway did Masquerade not George brought back a fun memory for me. I used to work for a Black church in the media and church had a bookstore and many time towards the end of the work day a bunch of us would hang out and the bookstore and shoot the sh1t. This day a bunch of us are then and the Rev's brother a hardcore Jazz fan comes in to hang. A Jazz radio station is playing on the sound system and George Benson's A Day In A Life records comes on. The Rev's brother is getting into it and says.... I think that is the best song Benson has ever written. Everyone; heads swivel around and just stare at him. Rev brother says what you don't think it's his best??? Someone tells him that's a Beatles song. Rev's brother is in shock. One of others hanging another hardcore Jazz fans says even I knew the Beatles wrote the dam song. We all started laughing and giving Rev;s brother a bad time. It's one of my favorite memories.
