This makes tears come to my eyes - besides loving the song and becoming now aware that the tune comes from George Beverly Shea, it reminds me of when I came to Christ 52 years ago in Melbourne Australia at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl and I came down to the front to accept Jesus as my Lord. Billy Graham had preached and George Beverly Shea was singing.

I had never before thought of putting poems to music. But I did it once. It was rainning so hard and God gave me a song for my mother. I was on my way to see my mother when I got off work. Was the time my mother had cancer. It was a five hour drive. It was pouring down rain. She went to the organ and tried to play it the best she could. She didn't have long to live after that.
