I love his philosophy, "Do what you love, and the money will come later." He said when he woke up, he couldn't wait to get to work--to make people laugh and smile.

George Burns always reminded me of my dearly beloved uncle Charlie who I miss to this day very much as I miss George Burns to this day "Nov 30 2021" very much. Thank you "Retro Man Mike" for posting this "Goodtimes" copy. I had/have a collection of these "Goodtimes" video tape documentary's and they are all very well done as was this one. Thanks Mike.

George Burns was Nathaniel Birnbaum. This documentary was produced the year he turned 100. He passed away shortly after he turned 100. I saw reruns of The Burns & Allen Show growing up. Also there is a show called Radio Classic and they aired reruns of Burns & Allen, Our Miss Brooks, Gunsmoke, Tales of The Texas Rangers etc.

I tried evaporated milk in coffee because of these commercials. It was HORRIBLE! Anyway, Larry Keating was the best Harry Morton.

That may be why they MOCKED Carnation evaporated milk in many segments. They came close to the borderline and I'm sure annoyed the sponsor on more than one occasion. I ran across someone else who informed (or read this somewhere) that the show got in VERY BIG trouble with Carnation one time and Burns read them all the riot act! He was the producer of the series and had final say but also felt the pressure the worst when things went wrong! I've seen enough 1950s sitcoms to see that the 1950s were NOT as squeaky-clean as everybody who has a mad-on (hates) for that era would have you believe. They got away with some pretty borderline things that wouldn't fly today. For every "Father Knows Best," there were was at least a half Ernie Kovacs out there.
