He should have been inducted about 20 years ago. Keep it 100. That song has been THE Que song since it came out. My dad was in college when that song came out and told me so. But at least they did it before he died. George Clinton is one of the greatest artists and producers of all time.

@dakota haro have no idea what you’re talking about. Most schools you can’t pledge until your sophomore year, must have a certain number of hours, and must have a certain GPA! So in reality, if you’re dropping out your freshman year you won’t have any of those.

The first time I met this man was 1976 at the Dayton Arena during the Mothership connection tour. How we got back stage was amazing especially when we were just 12 yo. We called it the falling stick method. Outside the emergency stage exit ya put sticks up against the part where the doors open and wait for someone to exit, the sticks fall down blocking the door from closing and you are in. Works in movie theaters too. So many people in costumes and walking around in clouds of smoke. Not one person said nothing to us until Boom the tall man with the wig said....who is you. We all lied and told three different stories and he laughed hard. He just walked away like we werent there. Thanks George by far the best concert I have seen

The Funky barbershop quartet out of Plainfield, Brother George was laying the "konks" on back in the 60's during the day, and groovin with The Parliaments at night. All hail the Godfather of Funk, who gives credit to the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. If you notice, the music changed when Bootsy Collins and his brother Catfish joined Parliament Funkadelic. The other shift in their music came when Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker, and Kush Griffith joined the band; that's right before the Mothership landed.

it's so sad, George Clinton went to court to get back his Rights to the Music he wrote and was denied. All the music he wrote from between 1976 and 1983, which would include his contributions to the Funkadelic classics One Nation Under a Groove (1978) and Uncle Jam Wants You (1979) as well as the solo effort Computer Games (1982), which spawned "Atomic Dog." is owned by a company called Bridgeport Music the same company was one of the defendants in the recent “Blurred Lines” case with Pharrell and Robin Thicke. His music is second on the list of most-sampled artists in music history, with more than 400 times to date, it is estimated that it's worth 100 million in Royalties and George get zero *note he was heavily into Crack Cocaine back then, that's probably why he signed away all his rights .....very sad
