George Clooney and author Daniel Brown talk about the making of 'The Boys in the Boat' film

I went to the premier with my kid and this is a wonderful movie! Very inspirational to see as someone who grew up poor in the sequim area like Joe Rantz. To anyone considering watching this movie it is a great one to bring your young teens to see. It really shows what perseverance can achieve.

As someone who’s lived all over the world, I love looking at the history of new places when I move there and when I came to the Seattle area during the pandemic, I had ample time to travel and spending time in Port Townsend, and other areas. I got to know kayakers and rowers and ended up reading “the boys in the boat”. Wonderful history, I love the period fillms of the Nazis hosting the Olympics, which ended up showing that a “minority man” could win in track and these boys from working class backgrounds could beat the elite German rowers. I haven’t been to the Shell Building mentioned, but I have seen UW rowers, So I suppose I should make the trip to the UW campus to check it out! Hopefully the movie will be streaming soon as I don’t tend to do cinemas, but looking forward to seeing the film!!
