I listen to George Duke everyday as well, his most memorable composition to me is "Yana Amina",because it reminds me of a very pretty lady, the vinyl album is Feel, from circa 1974, w/ Leon Ndugu Chancler(d)& John Heard(b)& the delightful vocals of Flora Purim.....

A only discovered George a few time ago, thanks to Chick Corea. Both RI.P. His band play a beautiful composition of Milton Nascimento (brazilian like me) as if they were brazilian musicians! Bad for me for missing him all this time. But it is never too much late to hear and honor all these fantastic artists.

There are very many compositions by George Duke that I am fond of. There are even some among the slower tempo numbers that I've managed to learn. Among the more up-tempo numbers Geneva ranks among my favorite. I love the intricacy of the chord changes. It's a very pretty tune 😎😊❤

It's a very modal piece as are many things that George has composed. But I managed to peg the tonal center at A. What you hear throughout is one big turnaround or loop with maybe a 1/2 dozen 5_1 chord changes. For Geneva the chord changes are E13-AM9-Gbm9-Db13-B13-Ab6/9-E13-AM9-Gbm9
