Man, the embellishments give the piece a very fun dance-like quality, makes it very lively and not like a study/etude. Great upload!

I quite enjoy the Handel recorder sonatas and have even studied them myself on my trusty alto recorder.

I fondly remember the Baroque workshops I attended many years ago, at which Marion was one of the recorder instructors. Thank you for reminding me of how graciously she played.

Very beautiful! The Corellian influence is clear, especially in the presto.

Heart wrenching melodies after removing the veneer of politness of times. It's just a veneer away.

The tempo suggestions of Andante and Presto for the 2nd and 4th movements seem good, but for me Andante needs to be more walking (slower) and the Presto, quicker - in 2 not 4. What do other people think? I also liked the ornaments, but felt that the cello player could have taken up some of them in their line, as they were not so audible when played in the cembalo.

Is it me, or the fourth movement is an arrangement of a "gavote" from his own organ concert in g minor?

You're right, but Handel used to recycle a TON of his own stuff. As did most baroque composers

@@bartjebartmans fund it! The gavote I was talking about was the fourth movement of his Organ Concerto op.7 n°5. When I was a teenager I was very fond of it, but It has been years since the last time I listened/played it.

@@elielgarberi5258 Handel also transcribed this movement as the final allegro in the Op. 4 #3 organ concerto in G minor, where the solo part is realized by the organ, as opposed to the gavotte, which is completely orchestral. The order of evolution should be recorder sonata to organ concerto Op. 4 to organ concerto Op. 7, with the gavotte being the maturest arrangement.
