The rate of property crime is tied DIRECTLY to the rate of poverty, NOT to the rate of incarceration. There have been no studies which show a strong correlation between arrest rates and the rate of crime. We DO have studies which show a direct correlation between the level of poverty and the crime rate. Use your heads, folks - increasing penalties for misdemeanor theft will not impact our crime rate significantly. Lowering rents would be more effective. I'm voting to retain Gascon. His opponents have no facts to back them up.

We sat next to Mr. Hochman by chance a year or maybe two ago at a local place for lunch. As we got up to leave we had a short conversation with him. He was obviously so bright, but also kind and interested in us. I remember thinking we would be so lucky to have someone with his experience, views and caring prosecuting criminals for us. He lost that upcoming election, so I’m glad he has switched parties and is predicted to do well in this upcoming election.

I came here to see if anyone is making a case for Gascon to stay in office. There is literally no support for this man. How did he get voted in? This question must be answered. Crime is out of Control in California due to soft on crime DAs like George Gascon, and Chesa Boudin, who got recalled 2 years ago. Shoplifting is up by over 100% thanks to Proposition 47. Then Proposition 57 make different typers of violent crimes a misdemeanor such as assault on a police officer. Then there's shootings and human trafficking, rape, and all sorts of crime that are up.

Prices have sores on the price of living. Wages aren't enough and the systems in place aren't helping people. With lack of opportunities and funding in our communities people have been turning to drugs and start to get involved in crime. Gascon isn't focusing on keeping people incarcerated which only make the incarcerated struggle more and creates generational traumas. The core issue is beyond the crime itself. We need to see every life matters and give people opportunities to find value in themselves rather than just live dead end lives as wage slaves to the rich who only prosper. So much wealth exists in Los Angeles but in so small of a percentage in the population.
