Well said....I always fondly remember and miss my 4 grandparents who deceased despite me having a stronger bond with my paternal grandfather compared to paternal grandmother and maternal grandmother compared to maternal grandfather.

*Hugs* Me too, not crying at all. Also, I'm fibbing. I had wonderful wonderful grandparents, two almost made it to 90 and two gone way too young. This has brought up so many good memories of them. One set Democrats, one Republican! A very cool way for a kid to see true bi-partisan ...lots of things, really. My fave memory of my GOP Gran happened during coverage of this man, George HW Bush, officially accepting the nomination to run for Prez, and it still makes me laugh til I cry to this day.

I remember when George P. was like the JFK Jr of the Republican party, and everyone (or just my parents, it's been a while!) was talking about him running for office. It is highly possible after seeing how his father, uncle and Grandfather were treated that made him not pursue politics.
