I was unaware of my father's funeral. I was at school having no idea it was taking place. It was my mum's decision. I was only 8. I understand her view point. And respect her d decision to shield me from the pain and reality of it. However I still wish whole heartedly that I was there to say goodbye. That omission really eats away at me to this day.
