George also suggested they sing the last note of She Loves You as a 6th triad, which George Martin discouraged, as he considered it old-fashioned and corny. John and Paul liked how it sounded, too. George Martin capitulated and it’s a good thing: it sounds amazing to this day.

@mikeymutual54897 күн бұрын
43 out of 50 of your choices are spot on, except for "Do You Want to Know a Secret," which had an awful (and out of tune) vocal, the solo for "A Hard Day's Night," that was recorded at half speed, because he couldn't play it full speed (so no credit there), "Think For Yourself" wasn't as clever as you claim, "I Want to Tell You," which was probably the weakest song on Revolver, "Blue Jay Way," a song that was indeed monotonous and trivial, "Long, Long, Long," which was a dreary snooze, and "Revolution 9," which he really doesn't need to be mixed up in for credit. *But,* you if you are going to credit his third harmony in "This Boy," you should also give him credit for doing the same thing in "Yellow Submarine." So that adds one moment back to your list!
@BeatlesandStuff0017 күн бұрын
Great feedback. I agree with you more than you might imagine. Like you, I don't think much of the vocal on Do You Want to Know a Secret, but it was a milestone, of sorts, in George's career, since it was his first lead vocal on the big screen. I'm still giving him credit for A Hard Day's Night since he composed the solo even if he needed a little technical help to record it. I agree that Think for Yourself isn't particularly profound, but it was part of George's (and the other Beatles') progression from I-love-you-and-you-love-me lyrics. Personally, I love I Want to Tell You, so no agreement there! I'm with you on Blue Jay Way, I belong to the camp that doesn't like it much, but since some people rate it so highly I included it. And finally I rather like Revolution 9. Anyway, I love your feedback. Thanks for taking the time!
