Both are absoloute legends but I personally prefer Marty because of his voice and style of music. There’s just something about his songs that calms me and he had to have been one of the best songwriters in history. His ability to sign and tell a story is astounding.

What many do not know is that George Jones, Janis Joplin, Tex Ritter (Tantamount entertainer to Roy Rogers) Mark Chesnutt, Clay Walker, Tracy Byrd, Jimmy Johnson, (former Dallas Cowboy Coach), Bum Phillips (Former Houston Oilers/New Orleans Saints Coach) all grew up within 30 miles of each other in the Beaumont - Orange, Port Arthur, Texas - Southeast Texas Region. In his hometown, there are no statues, no plaques, no roads, no schools named in his memory.
