Growing up we didn't have much money. I had hand-me-downs all the way to the cassette tapes I could listen to. The tape George Jones - I AM What I Am started out to be my Mommas, but I got ahold of it and listened to that thing over and over until it had this high-pitched squeal. And this is from a girl who was mostly a Rock fan. But to this day He Stopped Loving Her Today is my all-time favorite song. Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes is another great Jones song. It was not from the same album, but VERY with a listen. So glad to see someone react to this one though. The picture it paints is one that can be seen as he sings it. Such is the heart of those story songs.

I never got to see George Jones live. Perhaps predictably the concert he was supposed to play "possum" didn't show (Crash Craddock took his place and killed it - he was amazing). Anyway, my favourite of the late George Jones was always "He Stopped Loving Her Today". Thank you for playing real C&W - a steel guitar adds so much!
