I had the privilege of seeing the Possum in concert in the 70's. I'll never forget it. Best concert I ever saw. I miss him a lot.

Thanks SO MUCH for posting this. I love it. The young George - no auto tune, no drums, no electrification! Just a guitar, a microphone, the backing string band, and THAT VOICE!

My parents took my sister and I to the Tucson Community Center in 1974 to see George his then wife Tammy W., Tom T Hall and a couple of others. They all put on a great show. George and Tammy did a few of their hits including “Golden Rings” which was an Omen for their marriage. Have a great day!

I see Gordon Terry to George’s left, Harold Hensley playing fiddle, blind Jimmy Pruett ( aka Wilson) on piano, Pee Wee Adams on drums, and the emcee is Jay Stewart. You can tell George hadn’t quite gotten out of his “Thumper Jones” style yet at this time. Seasons Of My Heart, co-written by Jones & Darrell Edwards, was and still is one of my favorites. What happened to our music?
