George is my favorite singer. He can deliver a tear jerker better than anybody. Ralph Stanley is my favorite bluegrass singer. The way he sings A man of constant sorrow is the way it should sound.

@rockofagesusa79425 жыл бұрын
I was a kid, maybe 9 or 10 in the late 70s the first time I heard Ralph’s voice and stile of music . My uncle was listening to one of Ralph’s albums and I heard it from a far so I had to go to his car and listen. I asked my uncle who that was and he said that’s Ralph Stanley and the song w as rank stranger, from that moment on I was a fan . I guess I was just a little odd because I was the only one my age that liked bluegrass and gospel and to this day it’s all I care about listening to because it’s the only music that makes any sense to me. The day I heard that Ralph had died my stomach flipped flopped and I knew the voice that I had connected with as a kid was gone. A singer like Ralph can never be replaced and I was fortunate enough to meet him once in my home town in the late 90s . Ralph will always be my favorite but I have a spot for Jimmy Martin & Bill Monroe also.

@jamesevans90072 жыл бұрын
@@dodgedrivinredneckky3996 Nonsense. A good story is a good story. The question is - would George Jones's story be a good one. I think it could be. There is much that could be learned from Jones's struggles if presented in the right way. While I don't see Jim Carrey in the role, the actor's politics, whoever he might be, are irrelevant to his ability to convey the character's life.
