Connery obviously, Brosnan's bond had a db5 for his own pleasure, Craig's one popped up in most of his movies, but surely if we're talking about parody db5 drivers using it, then surely Roger Moore should, as he drove it in the cannonball run.

As for Roger Moore in the parody film, the fact that he never drove an Aston completely went over my head when I saw it as a kid when it first came out - it was only when I watched it a couple of years ago that I realised that Moore's Bond never drove an Aston - it was either a Lotus or something he stole!

Agree very much with the comments about Lazenby's Bond. O.H.M.S.S., a personal favourite, is surely among the best five, at the very least for its integrity in attempting to bring Bond back to Fleming's vision - and, of course, for Tracy. Though occasionally in the film there are moments where Lazanby lacks the slick carriage of a more experienced film actor, his vulnerability actually augments his performance once the film gets going: his casual, almost ironic toss offs of lines that Connery would have slightly milked (albeit brilliantly), his fear during the foot chase, the look on his face as he waves to Moneypenny before setting off on his honeymoon...and, or course, the final moments of the film about which nothing need be said.

@ProjectFlashlight61210 жыл бұрын
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is actually the best Bond movie of them all. Best story, certainly,, and easily the best Bond girl. Tracy is independent, brave, clever, doesn't instantly fall in love with Bond. Lazenby was perfectly good as Bond, and had he carried on and done a couple more movies...remember, he was not fired, he QUIT - he would be at least as popular a 007 as Timothy Dalton is/was. Ever notice how almost nobody mentions Dalton's two-film stint as Bond? Daylights and License were not bad movies, and he was not a bad Bond...they just weren't very good, either and Dalton never looked like he was enjoying himself in the part. Daniel Craig is so wooden and unappealing as 007, he makes Lazenby look like Connery.

In my opinion, OHMSS has too many flaws. The few action scenes poorly distributed, and the shaky camera bothers me. Further, there's no outstanding action scene except the bobsled ride. Then, the movie seems to play before its predecessor - otherwise its ridiculous that Bond tries to trick Blofeld with just glasses and a pipe. And Ruby is so dull and silly that it hurts, she's no match to any other girl Bond gets in bed (okay, Stacy Sutton maybe). But hey, everyone has it's own favourite movie in the series, just wanted to point out what bothers me in this case.

George Lazenby could have been a great 007 had he tackled the role at least 2 more times, then hand it over to Roger Moore. But Lazenby didn't want to get typecast as James Bond. Unfortunately - and ironically - his one and only James Bond outing is what he's famous for. Timothy Dalton played 007 only twice and most thought he sucked, but it wasn't that - after 12 years of Roger Moore's comedic and sometimes slapstick Bond the next generation was ill-prepared for Dalton's serious, Sean Connery-inspired version. In hindsight Dalton was great. He was onboard for a third Bond outing but the studios took so long to get another story out that he lost interest and moved onto other things (Dalton was actually tagged to play Bond in1969 but he declined, citing his then too-youthful appearance and inexperience and Lazenby got the part). Pierce Brosnan who began playing Bond on 1995 was actually considered for the role before Dalton but was already doing Remington Steel, which was oddly a version of James Bond. By 1995 Remington Steel was over and Brosnan was available... and the rest is history.
@DarthRushy9 жыл бұрын
+Locktwiste72 The typecasting thing is all bollocks. The real reason he didn't come back was he was manipulated by his agent into a contract that forced him to obey the agent's decisions as far as his career was concerned. He would've come back for DAF, but the agent made him ask for too much money after already having bombarded the producers with demands.

+Locktwiste72 One little correction, sir. Remington Steele was never related or replicated even slightly over James Bond. There are a few throwbacks but hardly to be noticed throughout the series because the titular character was a movie buff and have had quoted Goldfinger in one episode only. Other than that, it was just a comedic detective series with elements of film noir and romance.
@ugobabyy9 жыл бұрын
+Locktwiste72 All very true. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is an underrated film. And honestly, I think I'm the only one who isn't a fan of the Moore era. Glad they went back to that in the new films.
