Over 5 decades, George Lynch has never even thought about playing any song the same way twice live. 100% substance and guts. A complete Legend.

I met George at a clinic once in Sacramento. Most humble rock star ever. Spent more time wanting to know about others styles, approaches, influences and wanted to learn from them. For a guitar god this guy is as humble as they come.

this is LITERALLY what I've always wanted... For the man himself to teach me my favorite instrumental song.

Its honestly alot more common that you would think. Ive found alot of shredders do this kind of thing one example being Satriani or Micheal Romeo

Definitely a natural educator. Cool how he explains different approaches other than his... Unusual for most artists. Usually they’re all condescending about other musicians not playing it “correctly”. Good man.

George, you're a great teacher! I like how you are patient, and play through the parts slowwwlyyy, unlike many other guitarist who just seem more interested in showing off their own chops. You should do more lesson videos. Thanks!

Interestingly enough, George took over teaching Randy Rhoads’ students at Randy’s mother’s music school, Musonia, for a while when Randy went on tour with Ozzy Osbourne. So, teaching guitar is already in his history.

I think George sees subtle things on the instrument that very few see...And i think he is a very down to earth and lovable guy.

My older brother claimed this to be the best instrumental rock song ever when i was a kid. It is still magical for me. The feeling george puts into his playing makes him sound so individual. I can identify when its him with all the harmonics, vibratos, flattenouts etc its like a beautifully crafted signature.

George that song is one of the best guitar songs ever. I still get chills when I hear it on my gym play list. As a fellow player all I can say is thank you for posting this video. George is such an awesome guitar player and easily my favorite! Sure, he is not the most technical player or the most experimental, but his tone, style, and choice of voicings are amazing in my opinion! I rank him right up there with Vai, Satch, Malmsteen, Van Halen, etc. as some of the best ever!
@fernando7179 ай бұрын
I could tell this was a struggle for George, as he just plays but can't really break it down in pieces. I was never really into Dokken at the time, but it's clear he's a great guitarist. I would never attempt to play him, but I like to admire his playing from time to time on KZbin just to see and hear what greatness sounds and looks like.

The memories. Love George. He’s the reason I’ve been playing for 23 years. I saw George in Dallas at a club called City Limits. Me and my wife were in the front row right in front of George. He likes to put his foot on the stage monitors. He was so close my wife took a pick that was taped to the body of his guitar. He didn’t even bat an eye he was so into his playing. Legendary player. Been a major influence on my playing for years. Thanks George.
