I'm 39, the first time I saw George live was in 98/99 during the "Smoke This" era. While not his best songs, his performance and live tone were killer. Seen him a bunch of times since then, Lynch is one of my all time favorite guitarists. His tone, phrasing, and off the wall concepts put him in a league of his own when he's on fire.

I was always drawn to George from the get go ! I got to meet him in Richmond Hill here in Ontario a few year's back. I've been blown away with his side projects and that heavy blues tone that he really had going on Dirty Shirley ! and is all his. No one has that tone and that Robin Trower influence is killer. Hearing his new material has been a point of inspiration and to always believe in what we create has to be from the heart and if others like it....that's the cherry on top. Keep posting !!

I was 2nd row at the Orpheum, in Minneapolis on their Tooth and Nail tour, opening for Krokus. He is so fast. He had the hair and a Charvel and fire was coming outta his fingers.

George rules; i kind of consider him like a 2nd generation of 80's player; he had EVH, Hendrix and some Malmsteen influence, but, at the same time, he has his own thing, very strong identity, his own licks. After EVH and Malmsteen he's the third in the game of rock guitar playing, to me.

@@scarygroove1970 Those 3 are on my top 5, definitly, with EVH and Malmsteen.

I think he gets lumped into the 2nd gen because of how long it took to get noticed, but to me he's one of the original 1st gen players (EVH, Rhoads, Lynch). Check him out live in 1979: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5S2m6eHoc2dg7s
