Well, he studied jazz. He started playing guitar with his father Vincenzo at the age of 10 and got onto a stage to play live, at 12 and went on to study classical guitar in high school in Palermo and later graduated in jazz guitar from the Palermo Conservatory of Music.

Thanks for the great analysis and breakdown. I share your enthusiasm and appreciation of Matteo Mancuso, who is now my favorite guitar player. I would love it if you could break down his song Samba Party which has some awesome 'glissando' tapping lines in the solo and also a nice melody. It won't be long before thousands of guitarsts are emulating Matteo - as they should be. This entire song is on another KZbin posting and easy to find if one wants to hear it uninterrupted......

Listen to his album, he plays rock. He plays EVERY GENRE OF MUSIC WITH A SUPERIOR CLASS. Matteo is incredible.

Thanks, Jimbo. I'm not sure though... There's easy Jazz and there's difficult rock. Personally, I think more about the attitude someone plays with as opposed to their dexterity or theory knowledge. Either way, Matteo certainly can ROCK!
