I knew his manager and guitarist also when I was a kid on Sundays I used to go a club called Bogarts in NW london a place called South Harrow not far from his family home and George was there every Sunday night it was a special night for soul enthusiasts we were around 17 or 18 not sure 🤔😌 it was a small club for locals he was not famous then

THIS guy, hands-down, was the Elvis of his generation! George got so over back during his Wham! days (before he finally went solo) that it even caught him off guard, lol. Was a sweet and giving soul, too. EXTREMELY gifted pop songwriter, competent musician, could really dance well if you saw him live, and of course DAT VOICE! Such a well-honed tenor dripping with raw emotion, you'd almost think you were listening to one of the DeBarge brothers if you weren't paying too close of attention. He's already missed by so many since the day he unexpectedly left us back on Christmas Day of 2016 (RIP brotha!)...

Eventually, He had a good like. Starting with Anselmo, and latter,(after his heart braking losses) He found wonderful love again with Kenny Goss. Whom they were together for 13 yrs. and very much in love. Isn't what we all experience of life. That's the magic of George He makes you feel he's been there too and you're not alone. A real angel sent from heaven. I know he's my little piece of heaven.

I don't know why it really bothered us one way or another, it wasn't like we would ever grow up and meet him or anything. 😁

George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley wrote this song when they were 17 years old. Obviously the musical gift was there from an early age, but it's also interesting that they had the life experiences to draw from for such a mature sounding song. Then again, breakups for teenagers can be just as emotional and heart-rending as for older adults, maybe more so... Everything seems more amped up at that age.

What's so amazing is that he wrote this at the tender age of 17 in 1979. It became The Song Of The Year in 1984. In fact on North American Soil, it's played somewhere in the world along with Every Breath You Take by The Police and Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor (written by Prince). In it's own way this Song was to George what "Gone" by N'Sync was to Justin Timberlake. It was the moment where you "Knew" George was the "Star" of Wham. One Year Later they would break up and George became a Superstar with Faith.

So beautiful 💔 He wrote this song when he was 17!!!!! And arranged the saxophone break etc. An amazingly talented man with a gentle soul and a hugely generous heart. You've done a lot of his ballads but he had some massive uptempo hits too, 'Freedom' (my favouriteGM song) & 'Faith' for example. The tribute he did to Freddie Mercury performing with the remaining members of Queen at the Kennedy Centre was amaaaaaaaazing if you've not seen it ❤

Years ago, I once had mutual attraction with a coworker. We were both in management for a bank branch, and often had to stay late to close up and balance the vault. She had a reputation for being tough and intimidating, but when it was just the two of us, she let the facade drop. As soon as the others left, she always relaxed and had me put on music while we worked. Turns out, we both loved singing out loud, but were too awkward and embarrassed to do so in front of others. Careless Whisper was one of the songs we always sang. Hearing this song never fails to take me back to those late evenings. Good times.

Back in the day there wasn't a lot of crossover in music like there is now. I was the only one in my family who listened to music outside of R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop etc. (I'm Black BTW lol). My older sister and old cousins did not listen to anything outside of that but even they used to bump hits from George Michael like this and Father Figure. That solidifies George's status as one of the best White soul artists right there
