The end of the conversation impressed me the most too. He was so articulate in summing up his career. Such humility! He also was completely grounded and realistic in saying "you can't expect to be relevant forever" but recognized his achievements and was proud of them because he was authentic. Such a special man and talent. I love him forever.

So absolutely true. The most genuine, pure hearted person. The beauty of a person that just shines. The joy he brought and still brings to me everyday is such a blessing. He succeeded being totally authentic-even when that meant taking those ‘risks’ which turned out to be the most iconic pop videos. The voice of a century-not just the talent but the heart, the charisma, the LOVE. He took pride in what he created-100% him. A true person doesn’t brag about what they’ve done to help others. He truly changed lives. Tangibly. It’s something that people who didn’t take the time to know him were surprised to learn. He shined and will always shine. I had to pause and will have to view the rest of the video, but like so often-my heart compelled me to reply. Love you George.

Well, George was a legend, no doubt about that, but its his profound honesty about himself and his life that really resonates with me. His music is timeless, and we can all find some identification with it at different times of our lives. It is incredibly sad that he is gone, I am in total devastation, I feel I have lost a great friend......I saw him once quite by chance as i went to see a friend who lived locally to me, I was driving and I allowed this car to pass, and as it passed I saw it was George, I think my jaw dropped in total surprise and he smiled a thank you and waved........amazing experience quite out of the blue, I had my Ladies and Gentleman playing in the car at the time, I am sure he must have heard it. Be at peace George, you were taken too soon, but your music will live on regardless....xx

I'm *so* lucky..... even though I want to be making music til the day I die... you can't expect to be relevant forever... 5 albums in 25 years- not exactly prolific, but I think pretty good in terms of *quality.*" That's not even including his Wham! years, during which he was the main songwriter and singer, so he shortchanged himself there. He fought with Sony but was never in danger of losing "everything," only money of which he had plenty. I think I read somewhere he had to pay Sony 7 million, which was a mere drop in the bucket for him, but he gained his freedom which was what he wanted in the first place. Sony won the case but George Michael won the war. Without a doubt, George Michael was one of the greatest super talented songwriter, arranger, producer, instrumentalist and singer to ever grace the industry as is evidenced by the legacy he left the world. George Michael was also a great humanitarian and generous to people he did not know but heard of their plight and helped them always wanting to remain anonymous. I loved his honesty, especially after the "outing" from the incident in LA. George Michael never really hid his sexuality but felt rather it was his private business and not that of the hound dog tabloid press. I am an American and after his arrest, it was like he disappeared off the face of the earth. I was astounded at his body of work when I finally caught up to him again.
@thebloodofjesus32877 жыл бұрын
For some reason, I was unable to edit above post. On Edit: George Michael signed a new deal with Sony which included sales of his back catalog. It comes a decade after Michael tried to free himself from a contract with Sony in a protracted legal battle that cost him an estimated £4 million. Although he lost the case, he orchestrated an expensive buy-out financed by a two-album deal with Virgin. Rob Stringer, Sony Music UK's chairman and chief executive, said the company was delighted to be "working again with one of the greatest recording artists this country has ever produced."
@ladymay307 жыл бұрын
+ the blod of Jesus you are right, maybe he was confident enough to fight but after his outing, he was really ingnored by the US media but I guess he didn't really care about it. And for sure he was one of the greatest artists that come from UK. He will be not forgotten he was a true legend.

All 10 are important to me. What he says is very wise and people should listen and let it just settle in to who they are. Walk away from this video being inspired. These "rules" can be applied to any career or your passion. George Michael was such a great artist, singer songwriter, kind, wise, and he never came across as a celebrity who thought he was better than everyone else. I saw a video of one of his homes and it was big and gorgeous but it was how it was decorated on the inside that made me say Wow to myself. It was flashy looking and saying "this is what being famous has gotten me"... it made me respect him so much more. And his generosity to different charities is something else that has made me respect him more. An amazing man he was!

Thank you Evan for this video. George Michael was a unique and irreplaceable singer. He was a very talended artist, and a true gentleman and he was a genuine human being. Some press and a part of the music industry tried very hard to destroy him as an artist, thank God he resisted. But somehow I belive that with time George gave up, even knowing that his fans were always by his side no matter what. He gave up and his body gave in. George Michael's death was a terrible lost for the world of music. He had a special touch, a special way of felling and of writting. He always sang with his heart and soul, and that's what made him a diamond in the world music. He will be missed. l miss him since the day he left us orphans of his talent. I saw him live only once, back in 2007 (12 th May) in Coimbra, Portugal, I belive it was the first concert of the second "part" of the 25 Live Tour (he rehearsed in the city satadium for a few days). I will always, always remember that concert. I am a fan from the very begining of Wham! I was only 10 years old. Of course he was a handsome and charming man, but what bewitched me was his voice and all the soul he putted in his songs. And by then I was learning french as a second language at school, but he made learn english for I wanted so much to understand what he was singing. His songs, or even the covers he had done so perfectely, made me feel I was not alone in some less good moments of my life. Now that he's gonne I have even more need to hear his music. George may had thought he would not be remembered, but he was so danm wrong. George Michael is already a legend. Thank you again Evan.

Many talented people lack the conviction and Moxy that George had to hone his gifts as belief in their own talents. Talent is not enough as hard work and stubborn grit to fight for your rights is important to your building a business and become the steward of your talents. Often more than not many give over their material to have others handle their business, which is a horrible mistake. George learned the business and fought for his principles as well. He deserves admiration for his hard work business sense and convictions.

The genuine music died the very day that George Michael passed away.🎶🖤 Never has there been anyone whom has come remotely close to this genius that encompassed so many genre's within the arts since. The most honest, naturally gifted, talented, loving, witty, giving man to have ever conquered the Music Industry. No matter what the media dragged up on George through blatant lies, harassment, loitering constantly around wherever he was without a moment's peace, the intrusion into his private life and this obsession with his sexuality - George's true admirers loved him all the same and did so for the right reasons. I'm torn to shreds that we lost such a talent at a young age 😢, yet I'm glad that he is finally at peace. He has left us with a lifetime of memories and for those of us lucky enough to have grown up with Wham! and George as a solo artist, a soundtrack to our lives. How blessed we were to have been alive at the same time that this brilliant star was continuing to shine. God bless you George for what you have shared with us, that is all written into the lyrics of your songs - pure honesty. You wore your heart on your sleeve unapologetically and we all understood when you needed the time off to grieve. I do wish you had won your Court Case on behalf of all Artists around the globe, no matter at what level of success. As one whom has suffered from agonising chronic spinal pain for over 37yrs, 24/7, I'm glad that you never had to endure the spinal surgeries suggested to you which would ultimately have lead to narcotic addiction. Unlike myself, who was told to "suck it up and endure the pain" with some Panadeine Forte if lucky, you would have been offered the top shelf of so-called 'pain relievers' which no doubt would had lead to addiction. I'm blessed that I have never endured this, despite now having to need such powerful intervention due to the Medical Community doing mostly nothing for me. I was injured in the year I became and adult and have not been able to hold down any type of job since, despite my many attempts at volunteering. I could never wish this type of pain on you, which would have stolen your career. After coming home from the hospital only a mere few years ago from breaking my predominant arm in three places, it was whilst you were singing Spinning the Wheel ironically. You have always been that bright light that has made me smile despite the tears streaming down my face from pain seething throughout my body. Yet, you have inspired me to 'move on' and keep going with the many goals that I still want to try to come true. At least I can count on you to always be by my side and an entire community of George Michael admirers to confide in who can share their experiences too. For those who have felt the words so deeply from this genius, only we can truly understand the feelings or have our souls touched in a way that no-one else could and feeling those inevitable goosebumps when George would hit certain notes that left us in awe. Thank you so much for making such a wonderful video that wasn't manipulated and spoken by the man himself. I truly thank you for giving him a chance to speak for himself without inserting false narratives like many do. As much as I truly miss dear George, I know that he is now at peace and has left us with what he had wished from the start - his brilliant songwriting abilities. George sings in his song Waiting, the words '...and the road that I have walked upon, well it filled my pockets but emptied out my soul'. To myself, he hasn't given himself enough credit. Yes, his pockets were filled, yet he gave so much of his money away without so much as a peep or expectations of gratitude. I personally do not feel that George's soul was ever empty, yet only he can speak for what he feels. All I can say, is that he has left so many of our souls rich and full just because of him and for this I can't be thankful enough, especially throughout my own personal journey. George Michael - you were a true gift from heaven and I'm eternally grateful for you having believed enough in yourself and your talents to have made such an impact in all of our lives. God bless you my friend. Kris.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨🎶

Number 4 is my favorite , I'm go glad we have OTHER gay artists to have GREAT success like Frank Ocean, Sam Smith, Troye Sivan and Adam Lambert, Mr. Michael help pave the way for future artists to come out. R.I.P. Legend As a singer and proud gay man, This makes me very happy.

I think he did secure his music and place for all time. I loved his music from the start and as he developed as an artist, I was draw to his music because you always felt he felt it and it was honestly from his heart. An amazing voice and talent. He secured his legacy for more generations to enjoy. I think all ten are great, but I agree “do what you love”.

I was around the same age as him and I can remember the first time I saw a Wham video. That was back in the day when Michael Jackson invented the music video frenzy. We were at a ski resort nightclub and Wham came on the big screen and everyone just got up and danced instantly. Of course all us girls, and probably some of the guys, were drooling over Gorgeous George. #9 is my favourite rule as having perspective makes all the little lumps and bumps of life almost laughable. That wisdom just comes with age unfortunately as sure wish I had it when I was much younger. But, there has to be some benefits to getting older :).
